My SRT4 gets around 611hp with no engine break in. Considering the Turdbeast gained around 30 hp since the start of the series, I think the Neon could get damn close to 650. Pulls all the way up to 191mph, but I'm sure I could get higher with some work and a draft.

However, I'd only run it if we were on race tires, it's HH turned up to 11 on sports tires.

I've decided to run the SRT8 for GT, and I think I'm going to screw around with the XFR or something AWD for Saloon, but I'm not sure what yet.

If it snows the first race at SS7, we're all screwed.

Something I realized earlier, with these limits and tracks, we are going to have a very hard time keeping people who come into the room from being stupid. Especially on Rt 7.

^The Pig (Eclipse) makes similar power to the SRT4. I was hitting 200mph in it at Le Mans.

I just realized the SRT4 only weighs about 1000KG, stock weight is still under 1400. I'd imagine a 600+ hp, FWD 4 door with added weight would make for an interesting racer on sports tires. Still, if I find another one, I'll still do testing with it.

Bone stock the Eclipse will run all the way to the high 170s at SS7, I don't know why that car is so damn good in this game, but it is.

If you get a point for running a Lolvo 240, you should get a point for running another over powered FWD in a race against high end Euro and Jap performance Saloons.

E: Something I forgot to ask, Is there any reason the GT series is premium only?

In reply to Grizz:

Well, you could add 400kg to the SRT4 and put it all over the front wheels so you could get traction

I'm pretty sure most of the weight is already over the front wheels. If I can add a decent bit to the stock one, I'm going to try to get a 50/50 weight distribution.

I think you can only add a max of 200kg of ballast.

I am likely going to run the same thing. It is down it the Dodge or the XKR. The STR8 is already painted though....

That too.

I'm pretty sure the stock weight is mid to high 1300s though, so it could be alright.

Probably because they look nicer in the post race pics and they "should" have better damage modeling (parts falling off etc.), at least that was the promise before the game was released (never tested it though).

Also, the worry about people busting in on the races: I really haven't seen anybody even try to run with us since Brad started putting the "Private" note on the forum title.

Yea, that and current / premium GT cars are IMHO what Nascrap should be about today. Not the mockery of "stock" cars that it is in reality.

Bah, I wanted to run my R129 SL600.

Nother Question: Ram for Saloon, yea or nay?

As long as it doesn't look like mine I'm fine.

Also, Holy Crap! I forgot about the 300C! That's what I planned on running originally.

E: And I no longer have to look/test cars for either series.: 1417KG, near perfect weight distribution(51/49), and all I had to do to get 648 hp is take off the supercharger. Was doing testing, and it's easier on tires than the Z06, even though it's on sports softs. Without ABS and stock brake balance, it still barely ever locked them up.

Added Bonuses: it looks really good in Matte Dark Red, and it has the same Glasspacks from Hell sound as the Range Stormer Concept.

Only Issue: Downforce only on the back means the front goes up over hills.

Used the GTcalculator on both of them(thanks to Brad for mentioning that) and the car is Wunderbar!

GT is premium, Saloon is any, probably because there aren't that many premium saloons/estates in the game. There's what, 4?

Don't bother with the FT-85 Toyota's, they barely go over 300hp.

I'd hoped that the RX-8 would sound like the ALMS cars, but it doesn't and I'm sure that there is not enough there to let me play the role of giant killer in the GT series. Apex or Aircooled might be able to make it work, but not me. I have two FT-86's but both are completely stock and have never been driven. When I saw how light they were I crossed them off my list.

I built up an Evo X for saloon class, but haven't driven it yet. It is well shy of the hp limit though. Too bad it doesn't come in a 2 door configuration so it could run in GT.

I forgot about the RX8... i may run it just because i'm comfy with it.

Actually nevermind, it'll be real slow with the minimum weight requirement.

Yeah, I tried it out at Fuji. It would've been ok in the hh race, but not so good in the GT races to come. Either needs more power or lower weight.

That's what I liked about them, you can add 200kg anywhere you want

I figured they would be down on power so I didn't build one up. I'm giving the Rx-8 another chance after playing with it last night.

The FT86 is competitive on tighter courses, but can't hang on the high speed tracks due to the HP.

Ran a 40 lap race with a friend at Daytona to break in one of his cars. The 300C went 26 laps before I had to get tires, and that was really only because of the right rear tire. Never had to get gas.

So good on fuel, and I'll check sometime to see how it is on sports tires, because I was using race hards.
