Damn, I dunno what I'm gonna do. The R8 could hang with Brads Mclaren stealth, but once people started hitting 1:10s at Spa I knew I was screwed in a street car. Actually got a Nascar to corner, still having throttle on oversteer issues.

I don't know, I hate running race cars, I might just run the shuffles only and say the hell with the 625 series.

I can't quiet get a hold of the MF1. I want to, it is one of my favorite cars, but I have consistently 4-6 seconds faster in the GTR and NSX.

Your R8 was fast in a straight line. I could have passed you if I wanted to force the issue. You would lose a lot of time in the corners.

Also, people were hitting 2:10... 1:10 is really really fast.

How did the Nascar do? Looked like it was a handful.

The nascar was fantastic in fast corners, I could get through the hill turn at 140ish without going off, it just sucks so much ass through slow corners with the oversteer issues. I had the acceleration sensitivity on 50 and the car still liked to pop sideways in first or second. I figure if I can either "fix" the nascar or at least use what I've learned with it on the Challenger TC I'll have a car I can be good with.

It's a shame about the R8, my best time with it was a 2(I didn't mean to put 1 :O )16 at Spa, I just can't go much stiffer on the suspension and I wasn't really pushing the car because it's another of those fastest when sideways cars.

OK, lets go with this for now.

NASCAR should technically not be allowed by the above (right?), but we should do some testing to see. My limited experience with one is that they come off as very heavy with lots of power. This makes them very bad in slow corners, but they should be killer on wide open fast courses. Maybe too much of a variation from the TC style cars?

Regarding not testing in a room: I was online all Sunday, but was just running B-spec races (while doing other stuff) to make money, those TC class cars are expensive!

I did run in room on Friday night. Testing is nice to do offline because it tracks the times for you (best lap times). But online is nice because it is a lot easier to change cars (don't have to leave track).

I did make, and share a Big Sh&te course. It should be an interesting variation for us.

Grizz, use a 4WD car. Much easier to handle on acceleration. Man, we need you to run. Besides, you have run well in RM. I saw you many times up front in the Z06 series and that car was very hard to keep under you on acceleration.

mndsm, are you going to run in the upcoming series?

At that power and torque, it's got to be a HEAVY car to be 625pp.

You'd think so, but no.

My SL600 and SL65 are both around high 1500s and make a bit over 1000 hp and (at most) 1151 ft lbs of torque. The car that chart came from is 1026kg and has a wing on it that doesn't show up and I don't recall putting on it. But I can adust the aero in the front and rear, so I guess it does. It actually has such a low PP because of how light it is, when you add a full 200kg and move it to the back it gets a 50/50 split and bumps up to 666PP.

And since I hate suspense :

Good points: FAST. I hit 205 before having to brake on the straight at Mt Ashole.

Doesn't handle as horribly as I thought it would on the courses I tested it on.

If I drive it like a Nascar it doesn't kill tires that much.

Even with all that tire spin I still pulled past Grae on the straight.

It's wide, so it doesn't get caught out on off camber turns as much as some of the other stuff I've tested.

The brakes are freaking HUGE, this thing stops better than some of my race cars.

Bad: Even with the Ghost wing, it's twitchy as berkeley.

See that smoky start there? That was with my traditional for that car 4th gear launch.

It may not get caught out on off camber stuff, but that doesn't mean it handles nicely.

It tops out quickly with anything other than a 240ish top speed. Which is a pain in the ass when you think about it.

Most courses I can't run it all out because I have to lift for corners I took full throttle in the Nascar. I've been playing around with the suspension settings and I still haven't found one that works great for me. Getting there though.

I figure the sheer speed of this car will be offset by the fact that I'll probably have to pit a lot with it during this series. I know for a fact that this car can run down prototypes at Daytona, but Concealors Autobacs MRS was giving it* a challenge at Spa earlier.

*In my defense, I had a horrible suspension tune on it, it was plowing a surprising amount for a overpowered rwd. And what I mean by surprising amount is, it made an audi wagon look like an elise. I leave the yea or nay to you guys though, you don't want me running the stupid fast monster and I wont.

In reply to Grizz:

Run it Grizz, run it! How could it be anything but an interesting race for you and all else. You drove it quite well at Ahole (spelling intended). I'd be surprised if you could make it through a race without some damage but that car is so blindingly fast that you could make up for a couple of stops. The three cars I rolled out last night are all within 1sec. of each other at 625 and if you can smoke em that bad on Ahole . . . look what you did to me @ Roval Hills. If I have time let's go back tonight and try it with heavy damage and penalties on on both tracks for say . . . 5 lap races and see how you come out. That will give you your answer. The car fits within the parameters of the series IMO. It started me wondering if there might be some other jewels lurking within the "production" cars. I DO think that it would be hard not to get very frustrated with that car @ Origami Road.

Re: the adjustable downforce, it apparently has a diffuser under the car. That would explain why the rear bumper sticks out like that. The Tommy Kira I ran at the last series' ROC came with adj. downforce with no wing. You could add wings but I didn't want to screw up the simplicity of the design. What it came with was adequate and I doubt adding wings would have increased the amount available.

On "Roval Hills": I'll try to make it available to you guys to download asap. Air, if you get a chance check it out. It's the exact opposite of Origami. It's very fast, can be learned quickly, and would present a unique opportunity for the really fast cars. Definitely a track for 600pp shuffle and a good one for NASCAR.

Lol the MR-S only has 353hp and i think it's only like 560pp or something. That was also my first trip to Spa ever. There's a 2:18 in the MR-S. (It was also topping out at 153mph due to not having enough power to overcome the drag)

I'm aware of that, but I couldn't catch up to you that easily at the time. I was running horrible 2:15s the entire time I was following you, so there's a 2:10 in it.

I did manage to run a 2:14 on the lap you and the other guy left, but that was very hard with the car going "DUUUUURRRRRRR! Hay wats that?" and pulling off into the sand and E36 M3. Tonight I'll see how it does without the suspension stiffened damn near all the way up.

Cars still being considered:

  • GT-R R35 TC 2:12.4
  • GT-R GT500 Stealth 2:12.9
  • RX-7 TC 2:12.8

Cars eliminated based on race performance:

  • McLaren F1 Stealth: should be fast, I just can't get it where I need it to be. 2:16.5
  • R32 TC: like this car, but lack of front grip is a killer. 2:18.8
  • Nomad Diablo SGT: too many other fun choices to use a standard car 2:18.7
  • STR8 TC: lots of power, but way too heavy. 2:17.5

Cars still to be tested:

  • R33 TC
  • R34 TC
  • EvoX TC: way down on power, don't have high hopes
  • Impreza TC
  • Siliva S15 RM
  • TVR Speed 6 RM
  • IS F RM / Racing Concept
  • ZR1 RM: although I won't likely use this car just because

I'm no good at Spa!

ASTONISHING!!

Also, mt ashole is a light or no damage race. Even going slowish I got damage understeering on the hill. I might be online for the night, but I don't think I'll be doing anything, a combination of congestion and no sleep means I'm useless right now.
