Inane, pointless story- one of the things I'm best at it seems.
When I was a Junior in HS, my family was stationed in Germany, and as there wasn't on-base housing available yet, we for a while rented the upper floor of a house in a nearby German town. The house's owner, whose family lived on the lower level, had a daughter a year or two younger than I was- and she and one of her friends had crushes on me and took every opportunity they could to come visit (under the auspices of seeing my baby brother and to practice their English), and on a few occasions I watched movies with them- including the German-dubbed version of Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure. One of the few things I remember about the dub was the fact that apparently that '69!!' joke was either too raunchy for whatever they rated the movie or it just didn't translate as humorously, because instead of 'What number am I thinking of? '69, Dudes!' it was, "What actor am I thinking of?' "Arnold Schwarzenegger!".
I laughed even harder at it because I thought it was ridiculous... and then still-rather-shy-around-girls-me had to figure out how to explain to two bewildered 14-year-old girls what the original joke was...
Oh, and as a final pointless bit of info- as I remember it, the German-dubbed equivalent of B&T's ubiquitous 'Dudes' was 'Hoshi'...
