You haven't met my postal carriers. I'm surprised they can count to 10, let alone 8413.
Plot thickens... now USPS claims the package is in a parcel locker??? delivered 1/9/21? Do you have a parcel locker? Might check and see.
Jesus christ. Alright, I'll get on that.
Edit- it was there and is in my possession. Expect an unbox some time this evening after I get home.
In reply to bobzilla :
I sent mine out and it arrived at the victim's house 4 days later. Still patiently waiting for my box o' goodies to arrive.
I got around to opening mine from DuctTape&Bondo. First, I would say we should ban him for violating the rules, but since it benefitted me, I say we give him an award. Look at the size of this BOX!
The box is completely covered with fun quotes and things. I had to take about 20 pictures to get them all. Link Here if you want to see the rest
So, on to the opening.
Then the haul inside was glorious:
1-DIN installation kit for 92+ GM. No brainer. That means I need to buy a C4, right? Belts for a Maytag, which actually look like they might fit my lathe. Toyota eye-candy calendar
Engine trim for a Mercedes, hot wheels, flashlight (not a fleshlight... different thing entirely), lanyards, GFCI outlet, and remarkably appropriate horns. The horns on my motorcycle are dying and sound more like a sheep drowning in it's own sick. Those will come in handy. There is also some cologne in there. You must know how bad I smell :)
Power supplies, sandpaper, fuse holders, beer coozies (and a beer to put in them), a book about the secret history of Wonder Woman (actually something I think I will enjoy reading), a ratchet that is missing the ratchet (so, it's a drift/prybar), chocolate mint twinkies. One was good, the other one kinda got squished. AND a Kobalt bottle opener and a really cool vintage point-setting tool kit.
Strangely, this is also highly appropriate. In hooking up my electronics, I realized that the only Cat5 cable I had was 15' long. Now I have some awesome shorties
A couple racing harnesses, and a dugga dugga. The last one I had to look up. It's a LaCotta stove top roaster/cooker. Found some awesome stuff on it. One website said it was a clay and another website said it has some volcanic rock mixed in. Can't wait to try it!
And OH THE STICKERS. Including one with my tagline.
DuctTape you are my brother from another mother. What an awesome box of stuff. Thank you for the time and thought you put into it. Amazing.
So, i didn't play this year. However, i wanted to give a shout out to indy guy!
He made my day. Genuinely. Out of the blue he sent me a letter and almost exact hotwheels replica of my miata!
Thanks, indy. I needed that today.
As promised- a box. Lopracer was kind enough not to be mad at me for forgetting how to write my own address. many quotables. I was mildly disappointed there were no bees, mostly because that would have been funny, at least to me. I do hope the packing engineer has recovered. first layer, a Christmas note, and a briefly confusing moment where I wondered what the hell a blippi was, before I realized lopracer had been kind enough to pack it extremely well. first layer, a classic motorsports and a texas license plate. about now I realized I'd been taking pictures upside down. I didn't know I could do that with my phone. first layer, a nasa water bottle, a 6in1, a variety of well wrapped items (a set of picks, a tool I'm not entirely sure what it is but I need to relieve pressure first) a bag that contained an extremely neat little subaru- the batteries were dead. Fortunately, I have more batteries. The cats hate it. some what I believe to be Christmas led lights-a fantastic penske mug that was immediately claimed by swmbo- seriously she took it from me. pancake syrup! Cracker barrel has fantastic syrup. I almost just drank it. But I resisted. moar stickers! And hot wheels. I'm particularly happy to see the rx7- I lost all of mine of that version in my divorce. And wagons! And a bmw! and a live cat! He's pretty good. I'll keep him. moar stuffs! A specialized mtb inner tube, a motorcraft filter, a k&n filter? New? For 2 bucks! things to cut my fingers off with, tags to hang front my hands when I do it- pigtails of...I have no idea what. Some ptfe tape because we all need it, two of the coolest little spun mixing bowl things ive ever seen, an excellent ruger patch, a 2016 carolina police supporters sticker (these get me out of tickets, right?) Rock auto magnets
All fantastic stuff. I always feel like everyone has better stuff to send than I do.
Of note, I actually knew where your hometown is, I have family in spruce pine......
Thanks again, and double thanks for being cool about my address. I promise I'm not that dumb all the time.
Edit- I just realized the meaning behind the syrup. EXTREMELY well played.
Curtis,
Glad you enjoyed the unboxing and that you like my junk! Here is the provenance of said junk, every is worth more if it has a backstory right?
I never use a flat rate box because UPS is closer, I get a discount and I’m lazy
Horns are known as Cadillac quad tone horns, each horn is a different tone; A, C, D, F
Will be super loud on your motorcycle but hell to the yes!
One or more of the tones is no longer available new. Ground is the metal bracket and horn body, green wire is power. Suggest putting on its own harness with relay as most newer stock horn wiring may not be up to task. Didn’t remember to test them.
PC power supply was converted to a bench test power supply for 12v and 5v. No power switch so once you plug it in it’s on. You can add if you’d like. I’ve used it without issue or concerns but use with caution and don’t cross the streams. I mainly use to test car audio amps and hid ballasts but you can test the horns on there.
Beer - I had two left in my fridge figured I’d have one with you. My son asked if I knew for sure that you were of age. I'm so glad to see it got there in one piece. Cheers!
Engine cover from w203 C230k I thought I needed to replace on ours. Didn’t need so it’s yours.
Stereo remotes, points kit, black metal plate, phone power supply (per Greg Smith- “The power adapter should run just about any PoE device, like a wireless access point or camera too.”) HF screwdriver, cigarette lighter adapter were from previous year games.
HF impact gun I’ve had for over a decade was never any good on my oil less compressor which I no longer have. Of course with any HF item you use to get a free one so that’s the tape measure and led flashlight.
Hot wheels was from my son. A girl got it for him I don’t think he likes her anymore.
Stickers, the big one is the PegaCorn designed for Seth’s Unicorn of Destruction if you’re not familiar there’s a long running build thread. https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/build-projects-and-project-cars/r63-amg-the-unicorn-of-my-destruction/110824/page1/
Other stickers are mostly from an estate sale of some gentleman who had a cool old ford that won a bunch of local shows.
Unused GRM sticker was from the super awesome Nancy at GRM world headquarters. One on outside of box was from previous year game.
Lanyards and Spyder bag came from SEMA 2018 or 2019
My son influenced 3 of his buddies to buy Miatas this summer, the harness came out of one of them. They are working to unhack it and put stock belts back in and said to send it to you.
Clay clam shell cooking thing is an Italian La Cotta la bisquera (as you've already found) I found at a goodwill but never got to try it. Seems cool; https://www.chowhound.com/post/la-cotta-clay-pot-instructions-884112
CK BE cologne was my scent through high school, I'm sure you smell fine lol.
Chainsaw skills level = neurosurgeon!
Happy New Year!

Happy New Year!
You ROCK.
That PC power supply will actually be super helpful. I had one at the theater for years on "sparky," my audio repair/test bench. The old one finally died in a glorious smoky, sparky death. Last year I got a free tower from a volunteer with good intentions, but it wasn't working. Sparky thanks you. I'll probably find some time to wire it up properly. The old one was much like this one. I have a patch panel that I can wire it up to banana plugs for testing things.
Genuine quad tone horns? Dang. Funny part of that is that I have heard them before but never paid attention. As a singer, I'm sitting here singing A, C, D, and F.
So now I have the install kit for a DIN stereo in a GM, and the engine trim from a C230. Now I'll be looking for a C4 without a radio and a C230 missing the engine trim. Future WTB thread :)
Edit... Yes. I sometimes smell bad. I've been furloughed since March 21st, so there have been nights when I'm like, "shower? I hardly know her"
In reply to Curtis73 (Forum Supporter) :
Same, same. Sweatpants all day and skipping showers.
Most excellent chainsaw skills.
I'd go for a C4 with bad stereo and swap a Benz engine. Not the best sounding engine but a good stereo and you won't notice.
Oh, I almost forgot. The broken ratchet I found at the junkyard. Manufacture states lifetime replacement so if someone were to complete the online form they might send a new one.

Hey no fair! I didn't get a cat in my box.
Imagine my surprise when it was a cat, and not bees.
In reply to Mndsm :
Oh good it all arrived intact, Blippi is a children's YouTube series and toys and live shows and it never ends in my house thanks to a 2yo. I would say look it up but spare yourself.
The pigs tails are speaker wires that came with a set of speakers I bought SWMBO last year
The little green LED lights are replacement dash lights that I bought cheap and was not able to use
The K&N is in fact new bought on clearance application unknown for 2 bucks, I think I finally figured out it fits a Kia if some sort.
Subaru toy is a re gift from several years ago, my boys had fun with it and I decided to pass it on before it got broken beyond repair.
The Texas plate is also a hold over from another years box
The funky LED light that works in a socket or an outlet was a purchase from our local Habitat store, I bought a bunch for use around the house and one was sitting on my bench when the box was packed.. so in it went.
The Syrup was too good to pass up.
Finally I had to double check that I had not actually sent a cat seeing as I have one that size and color that likes very much to hide in boxes.
Glad you enjoyed.

OK... I get the syrup, but why the bottle?
Mine will go to its victim next week. Stupid PO only had afo/fpo priority boxes.
Its going to be a heavy sob.

I also have a Stihl 042 with a 26" bar that I was going to use for the overkill effect, but I think it sat too long with old gas in it. Couldn't get it started.
C4 with a Benz engine? I would make it a Benz diesel just to piss off even more people. I can strap that cover to an OM606
Hmmm... free ratchet replacement. I'll have to try that.
Your opening of mine made me laugh out loud. Perfect comic timing, then WHAP

Finally had a break through today...
Success as defined by the USPS
Couldn't wait any longer, I had to open it! Behold what Mezzanine hath wrought!
It only seemed appropriate to use my newly acquired GRM edition E46 for a display platform.
Some well aged reading materials that match my interests:
An awesome collection of stickers that will soon adorn my lawn tractor. Also a license plate for the collection and some reading material for our dog. The orange foot thing is unknown. Might make a good "beater car" key chain.
Tools! One of those cool tiny hammer with a hidden screwdriver. The yellow thing is a box open I think. The metal box is empty, but wil be perfect for my kids art supplies. The ZIP discs are an archeological find I recognize from my past life as a graphic designer. Now to find a drive.
I think this is a sign that I need to get my '73 Honda XL175 running this year. Some new brake/clutch levers, and oil seal kit, and what I think are drive sprocket that should fit my bike. I wanted a lower ratio for running on the dirt, and these may be perfect.
Some Mercedes sealant (not for use on hootus):
A set of Rota center caps, some O.G. Transformers!!!, a hand grenade lighter, and an awesome EB110 matchbook from Bugatti. I loved the EB110, so much cooler than the Veyron IMHO. All sitting on what I think is a VESPA helmet bag.
Another helmet bag (I think).
And lastly my new grocery store run shirt. I love these regional track shirts.
Thanks Mezzanine, you rock! Now to find places on my office shelves for everything. I already put the little orange cone on my desk.
You'll need to log in to post.
