I recognize several of those items as Legacy Gifts!

A fairly crazy story exists regarding the Autoweek guy, that I'm still on the fence about sharing, even though he has long passed.

Cant image who this might be from... Lol.

My daughter was very excited about the cars, stickers, key chains, and...the rubber gloves just like mom uses to dye her hair.

Thanks!

I'm thinking I'd didn't fill my box enough now. I'm glad it was received positively however. Have you figured out which is mine?

OK, opened my box. Here we go!

owners manual for a 99 Passat

Rock Auto magnets

Rear view mirror

Oklahoma  plate

storage hooks

misc lock cylinder

hockey pucks

drain cock

hvac knobs

sunflower seeds

tiny torx screwdrivers - very cool

wire brushes - useful

trailer lights

infintry guide card

1/2 socket on a pick

vac/boost guage

Ford speedometer

little rubber duck

flash light - can't have too many!

chopsticks

big twist ties (the OG zip tie)

a cel phone

Porsche center cap

bike grips

sawblade

piston and rod

actual Match box cars, not Hotwheels

some tiny light bulbs with threaded bases

little foam plane

skateboard wheel

brake pad hardware

2 black marbles

dog biscuits

A can label "Ranch Water".  Well it tastes like something from a Ranch, that's for sure. Couldn't spit it out fast enough. Like cucumber and cactus fermented in a horse trough then dumped on the ground and soaked up with a saddle blanket which was wrung out into the can. Took a healthy swig of Listerine and 2 beers before the taste was gone! Had to read the label again to make sure it was intended to be consumed.  I'd rather try Prestone than that stuff again.

Not sure what these are, the label mentions poultry

Put the foam plane together, it flys great!  Made it from the kitchen to the far end of the living room with ease.

Good box!

Hey Ross! See if that Impact has a JRH scratched into it somewhere. If so, it came from my first GRM new years game.

It is the legacy impact, as far as I know- legend has it that it will loosen any stuck fastener of your choosing, but you must move it on the following year or risk some sort of curse.

I figured it out, but didn't want to say anything as some folks prefer to remain secret. Thanks!

I apologize to the entire nation of Canadia for not getting my box into the mail yet. I'm going to be out of town for a few days for work, so it'll go out Friday the 13th.

Just a few notes: I had two 'gifted' beverages on hand from a Gambler 500 gift exchange. I selected the Ranch Water simply because it fit the space better than the tall can labeled "Mule". My Gambler friends preferred beverages are Malort and MD 20/20, so the Ranch Water was actually a bit 'high end'.

I think that the cellphone started out from John Welsh. It has plenty of pics (No nudes) and I added a few. The yellow poultry things are legacy along with skateboard parts. The socket on a pick was in the trunk of a Boxster I bought and I have no idea of the intended purpose. The 'hockey pucks' are universal engine mounts - drill as needed and bolt.

There is a GRM box rattling it's way to Kentucky as we speak!

A fantastic box from Ohio has arrived! Contents- some awesome stickers, an inflatable Goodyear blimp (I giggled like a madman), two hot wheels: an 87 El Camino and a 17 F150 Raptor; some gaskets, a 90 degree drill attachment of some sort, a container with a bunch of picks/screwdrivers etc., JB weld, a couple of Ford Racing towels, a Matco Racing hat, a couple of racing related air fresheners, some sort of triangular cutting tool thing... a Chilton's for early Toyota pickups, various bits of hardware, one 9mm cartridge, an Ohio plate, what looks like an EGR or DEF delete kit, and the best item of all- a genuine Billy Ray Cyrus cassette!!!
Plus some other odds and ends.

Thanks, Wesley from Herbert Ohio!!!

I am at the mercy of ebay right now to send mine out. Supposedly Monday the perfect bit of crap shows up and I can assemble te rest of the devastation.

I think is worth the wait as the ebay bit is a bullseye of victim stalking. If it does not come this week it will be sent out as a second package.

And it's off.  If my stalking skills are accurate this will be quite an unboxing.

I got the package yesterday, amazing! It turns out, we worked together for a short period back in the late 90s!

A multi layered gift, full of cool related and totally unrelated swag. Stuff he knew I would dig, and more random stuff. Have to try out the temp gauge this year.

That WRX toy car seems kinda rare, and the Porsche and Z cars are relevant. Just missing an MR2. ;)

Thanks! I feel like I cheaped out for my gift, I should have found a bigger box and included the OEM tail lights from my xB I forgot to pass along. There's always next year...

So, got a chance to open up the Toyota manual. Boatload more stickers tucked into the pages of the manual. Sooo awesome!!! The "it is what it is" sticker is going on the F-1shifty soon as I get some nice weather! Thanks Professor Brap!

Also- what is the weird triangular pointed implement that was tucked into the big hose?

In reply to Recon1342 :

To be honest, no idea on the weird triangle thing. That was a from a NYE game a few years ago.

In reply to Jerry :

It was a little crazy when Bill sent me my victim's name this year and I recognized it as a co-worker from almost 25 years ago.  That was before the GRM board (I think that was the team.net years) so I never connected that I knew "Jerry."  I was sure I would be able to find a business card or something with a logo from the company, but alas, I came close but not quite close enough.

A couple of notes on the items

There were matchbox cars of those in your interest sphere.  I didn't have an MR2, but I did have an air cleaner adapter marked "MR2" from a prior game box, so hopefully it found its rightful home now.

The obligatory 10mm, and an additional 9/16 Gear wrench.  The mechanism is a little sticky but I didn't even try to blast cleaner into it.  Hopefully you can revitalize it back to good as new.

There is some coroplast at the bottom of the box for whatever random project you might have.  Oh, and I can't believe I forgot to throw some stickers in, so apologies about that.

Finally, one of my wife's clients is a large Mopar collector.  He throws a party every year on the weekend closest to 4/26.  I think the artwork is pretty cool.

oh, the wiper motor is GMT-800 pickup era.  It should work, it was a pull-a-part spare.  The fuel damper is Toyota 22RE and most definitely cracked/leaks.

The IR gun was supposed to be a Christmas gift for my sister-in-law who was fascinated when they were over and I was using it to check the temperature of oil in a fryer.  We totally forgot to give it to her, so I figured better to give it as part of the game  than save it for her for next year LOL

I redid the brakes on my truck this past year.  One of the remanufactured calipers came with label "Bark Caliper."  If that doesn't give you confidence in your brakes, I don't know what will.  It was a rear, so I figured it does less than half the work anyway......

It's killing me that I can't open this yet because I'm a terrible procrastinator and haven't yet held up my end of the bargain.  Hoping to rectify that within the next couple of days.  I've been struggling for content with a personal touch, and it just occurred to me that I can put something kind of decent in there if I can revive some long-dead skills.

Maybe.  Maybe.

A suspicious box has arrived from gumby that claims to be heavy. This should be good.

And the box seems to have been reused from a year before from AngryCorvair.

Oh, wait. This is THAT box. The one that Angry bent and welded up scrap metal to reinforce the cardboard from USPS.

Primary contents included a 2XL safety vest, Mazda hub cap, Ford cassette sound system demonstration set, Hot Rod Power Tour window flag, Matchbox cars, and new in box brake components for a Saab.

In the black bag on the right was a nice collection of stickers, catalogs, and promotional material. I'm amused by the thick stack of Classic Motorsports stickers.

But you can't forget the additional markings on the steel box lining.

Thanks gumby! The stickers will find a good home on my sticker cabinet in the garage and I will be sure to pass the box lining along next year.

The Motorstate bag was PRI swag.

The Broken chunk of control arm was one of my first real lessons about putting race car parts on a street car and then deferring all maintenance of said parts. Thankfully it broke the day after an autoX, not during the event.

Inside the Bugatti matchbook is an interesting lapel pin.
