I loved working from home, it was probably the favorite part of my entire career, but when we did WFH we had to use a remote desktop connection to be able to use all the software necessary to do our job. The connection was slow and dodgy, but during covid times we had a business slowdown so we were still able to keep up with decreased workload. Now that the workload meets or exceeds our pre covid numbers I would hate to try to keep up with customer demands with a slow computer. Another issue for my job is that training new people would be a nightmare.

The good thing is that the we learned that WFH can work for us some of the time. So instead of having to decide if we should take a day off for a snowstorm or a sick kid, we just work from home for a day or two. It's a nice option to have.

I am so thankful that our IT team was ahead of the game when covid hit.  It was as seamless as it could have been.  They earned their paycheck for sure.

Eh, personally, I'd rather be in a office but I'm a people person.

They closed our facility not because of Covid but changing business needs with our customers. We still have to design and manufacture parts but our customers generally do the testing.

I also lost access to our huge ovens, sand blaster, machine shop etc
