On a horse that is. Yesterday I took Tiger Mom out to my sisters farm where we saddled up a pack of muddy equines and for the first time in her entire life, TM rode a horse! She had a great time and says we have to go more often now. It being the very heart of horse country here that shouldn't be too hard to make happen.

While I'm a perfectly competent rider, I just don't care enough about it to go through all the gyrations of cleaning and tacking the four legged beasts very often. Once every ten years of so seems to be enough

That said, my mount was pretty cool. An 18 hand, 2,200 lb Clydesdale. Sort of like riding an Imperial Walker!!

My first horseback rides were on one of those! Old farmer down the road had a pair that he used on the farm. He would throw 4 of us 10-12 year olds up on its back and lead it around the barnyard. Guy in front held on to the mane and the rest held on to each other. The horses back was so wide we couldn't even begin to wrap our legs around it!
