There was a white deer in Holly Springs, NC. It made the local news. I got to see it when down at a friend's house. They called him Elmer (for the white glue) not because they thought a hunter was going to get him. He lived in a restricted no hunting zone- I saw him right here.
I never did hear that it was found dead, but I've not heard of it being seen lately, either.
