Okey doke, I have about 24GB of video from the last LeMons race that I want to share with the rest of the team. So what's the best way to do this so that it can be played back on a normal DVD player?

Best way to ensure it gets watched or used is to create 1 good highlight DVD, then give them DVD's of the raw footage to have as well. Looks like it would take 6 DVD's to split the footage, and 1 highlight reel, how many teammates do you have?
Five teammates, that's 30 DVD's. That's a bunch o' burnin' and 16 hours of stuff to wade through to pick out the best. The memory stick might not be a bad idea.
You can get a small and portable usb harddrive for cheap, then just pass it around. Then you can use it for back up afterwards of all your photos/movies/mp3s.
These days I just use big hard drives (in the multi-terabyte range), they're the cheapest form of storage. I buy them in pairs so one backs up the other. Much more convenient than CDs too.

blue ray indeed.
anyone with a ps3 can play it, plus blu ray players.
if you're not willing/able to parse it down in time and compression, blu ray is good.
How long is it? If its DV then thats only about 2 hours, 24 gigs tells us nothing. You can cram 2 hours onto a single sided 4.7gig DVD that will play in anything that plays DVD's. It could also be compressed into WMV or h.264 and all fit onto one disc. But would be playable on less devices.
It's about 16 hours of video/audio. I used a 32GB SD card in my camera, most of it's at 720p but there's about 3 hours at 1080p (hit the wrong button). By the way, it's a Race Optics setup and it worked great! Good quality, easy to operate, etc.
