Took me more time to fill out my ballot than to get it from the worker. Really simple, of course I did this last week.

About 5 min.... weeks ago...
...absentee voting for the win!
Why almost everyone does not do this, I don't know.
5 minutes in and out.
Our local fire dept (nw NJ) still has no power, but they ran the building off their generator.....no problem. I've been voting there for 30+ years, so they know me well.
I thanked the poll workers for their efforts.
And I really admire those folks who stood in a line in other areas for hours in order to exercise their right to vote.

Because in some areas, it is almost IMPOSSIBLE to vote absentee. I live in one of those areas. I'll even avoid the flounder by not talking about how stupid early voting is being abused.
no ID required ... had to VERBALLY verify my address ( since there must be more than 1 walter jones using this polling place .... then stand in a 2 person line ( ~ 2min) get the form, fill it out and hand it in ... 10 min from door to door
I voted absentee, although our little community of 9,500 has three polling stations so the line is never that long. 2008 (my first time voting after becoming a naturalized Citizen) I was in line maybe 10 mins. It did take me a long time to research and figure out who I was voting for all the local judicial racers, council members etc. though. I can’t imagine turning up without a cheat sheet in my pocket to refer too.
Went in right around dinnertime, met some nice citizens who were just walking out, had to wait in line behind my wife and daughter because there was only one clerk serving our third of the alphabet. Asked to show my driver's license; I'm OK with that, so I didn't make a civil test case out of attempting to decline. Lit the lights, pushed the button, and walked out. Elapsed time about 4 minutes, maybe 5 counting the walk to and from the parking lot.
I got challenged because my name was not in the book.. (odd.. I remember voting here last time) so I had to fill out a provisional ballot. took me 10 minutes... the people who went to the machines... a LOT longer
We always go after I get home from work. All 5 of us. we take our kids, were in and out in 10 minutes or so.
1 minute, in and out of the local firehall. I would have been happy to slow that by 30 seconds to show my ID...
Didn't time it. Walked in. gave my name. signed the book. filled out the ballot, put in the machine, left.. Probably took longer getting to the polling place.
About half an hour. My polling place had 4 of our town's 5 districts. I'm in district 1, our line was to the door. Districts 2-4 had short lines with a total of 5 minutes in and out.
Other than the long line, my experience was the same as iceracer's.
Took me about 5 minutes. The poll worker asked if I had a voter ID card and I handed him my drivers license. He actually held it up by my face and said, "yea, it looks like you". He then one finger typed some stuff into the computer (very sowly) and I was into a booth right away.
45 minutes for me, I must have a big precinct compared to a lot of y'all. There were 6 or 7 voting machines, and a big line that led to one of 6 or 7 polling officials who verified ID. Everyone was pleasant and efficient; the only thing they could have done was to have more voting machines.
I did the absentee ballot thing. Never going to go to a polling place again. Around here, lines were horrid, people waiting hours to vote. I admire their patriotism, but I'm not up to that.
I live in a very small, rural area. It was a 40 minute wait at 6:50 in the morning. It was a bit nutty. Then again, we only have 2 machines and the majority of the people in the area are on their way to work at the same time...
Voted by mail last week, as do most residents of our county. But as far as people voting on the day, again, very small town, most in and out in 15 minutes or less.
Arrived at 6:10 PM, two people in line ahead of me, seven voting machines (six paper / one electronic) in place and working, out at 6:22 including picking up stickers and faux ballots for the kids and chatting with the folks that were running the voting center. I really enjoy the tradition and the opportunity to interact with the folks in my community so as long as my voting center continues to be as well managed, I’ll continue to vote old school style.
