when she brakes hard, say coming up to a sudden stop, she puts the car in park and pulls the emergency brake so she doesnt warp the rotors from standing on heated up rotors.
Wait...What??? So now she's sitting somewhere, I'm assuming in the road, with her car in park and her parking brake applied?
...Does not compute...

its more like coming up to a yellow light that she will not make it thru. If she gets on the brakes hard and comes to a stop at an intersection, then she puts it in park and lets the brakes cool a bit. If its another kind of emergency brake, im sure she doesnt just sit there...

Speaking of drivers in Atlanta, the only good thing about the traffic there is that if you have a strong performing car, and alert senses, it's not unlike wheel-to-wheel racing.
Dog eat dog all the way. Good practice, but highly stressful.
Weird you mention that..I cruise about 75, and often end up ahead of folks trying to run 80-85 because I can see better spots to clear the LLBs.
I learned how to do that in SCCA Improved Touring.

I guess that's kinda better. Still make me nervous at a light in park, in case you had to move n a hurry.

Things I learned driving a bus.
Don't take things personally. I cut you off, it was going to happen to someone since no one is going to let me pull into traffic.
That's my picture on the sign. You parked there and you can wait there untill I finish picking up all the people you made walk into the street. Don't try to drive through the crowd, I didn't leave enough room for you to get out anyway.
Don't panic. Yes that's a used tampon hanging from the rearveiw mirror. Slaming on the breaks here on the bridge won't change that. Keep going until you find a safe place to find out wtf is going on.
Taxis are yellow for a reason, so you can see them and prepare for whatever the hell they are about to do.
Somehow a 40+ foot vehicle is completly invisible. Had we invaded Iraq by bus the war would have ended before anyone knew it started.
I agree with you Wally on large Vehicles being invisible. I remember backing into a theatre in Philly at 7 in the morning on a saturday on Broadstreet.
Pulled into the median, took stock of the street behind me and saw NO cars for blocks... put into reverse, start backing and turning.... "HONNNNNNKKKKKK!" I have a Taxi trying to squeaze between the back of my truck and the drveway I am backing into...

Uh yeah not something I would recommend to anyone. I have been sitting at a red light at full stop waiting for the light to change when some idiot not paying attention would have hit me if I had not been able crank the wheel and get the hack out of the way.
They ended up stopping half way into the intersection, when they hit a car going through on the far side.
