That is awesome! But, I'd bet with what I save in property taxes I could pay for a 3D printer in 2 years...
Not to mention my cost of living and commute times...
That is pretty cool. Nothing like that at my local library, but I don't have to live in Falls Church, so I guess in my book I still come out ahead.
If you have a family and you are looking for family things, the crime/school/education/culture things to do are hard to beat in the City of Falls Church.
The schools are well worth the property taxes.
The Pierce County Library System here in WA has 3D printers and classes on their use as well. I'm pretty fond of the library and volunteer my time on the Foundation board. We've won a lot of awards for the different programs we sponsor like this. The money for this program came from donations in our case, not tax dollars.
The PCLS is an active member in our community, unlike many library systems across the country. They're doing a good job staying relevant even with all the changing technology that often makes people think a library isn't as important as they used to be.
Wow! Very cool. Good for you City of Falls Church.
BTW, I spent a week in Falls Church training a sunroof installation shop. Seemed to be an exceedingly nice place to live.

I don't think every location has them, but I know the Gig Harbor branch has a couple.

Yeah in all that is the DC Metro area, seems like Falls Church is a stand out. 2 square miles of nice homes, low crime, high education, and lots or traffic ticket cameras...no place is perfect.

Too bad it's in Virginia.
In reply to Flight Service:
Glad that you found a good spot to settle the family. Yes the Metro DC gets lots of nice things like 3D printers in the library.
Unfortunately, some neighborhoods actuality need those cameras as I have found since moving here there are some idiots that help us continuously rank number 1 in the nations worst traffic/driving standings.

They also used to have Volvos as their police car - mostly since there was a dealership in the city. I think the highest speed limit in the city is like 35 so they really didn't have to worry about the high speed chases.

All I have seen have been Fords. Volvo, Ford, and Kia (Kia is part of the Volvo dealership) are the dealers in town.
I think a S60 Polestar would be excellent as a police car.
