It was my highschool shop teacher's line.
He had a heavy Scottish accent and the beginning of our safety unit started with "Right lads, first rule, never stick your finger anywhere you wouldn't stick your dink"
I still have all my fingers.

I imagine you could thicken the liquid with a bit of flour or some other methods.
