I do know of a guy DYING FROM POT. he hit a phone pole in his bug bus and the bale in back flew forward and squished him.
By the standards being used for alcohol, that would be dying from a pot related issue, not dying from pot. Do we outlaw beer as people die, as well as kill others, from driving while intoxicated?

I thought he was being facetious?
I'm not sure I've seen a single post in this thread where someone said they think weed should stay illegal.
Aaaaaaand everyone is still arguing how it should be legal.
Should I take that to mean that all the potheads have missed the point? Maybe that is because of all the pot?
I KEED I KEED!

STOP SPREADING PROPAGANDA!
Hey! Get some beer and some cleaning products!
To summarize the original post: If someone says they are struggling with weed - believe them
Yes, it's an issue.... a very small issue...
(...Floyd has no, like, opinion on that man...)
It's pretty much legal here in B.C. Canada and my friend who is a CBSA agent has to continually remind / arrest / detain stupid stoners because pot is still illegal on a federal level.
I just want edibles to become more popular so I can stop smelling it on people.

Total opinion, no facts, just spouting what the weed marketers say (implying it must be false).
(to be very clear, the above is in jest. Satire if you will...)
Actually, I was about to post a thanks to Proweed for his well written post.
Nice try.

I'm not a huge fan of edibles. THC is processed very differently when it goes through the liver, it's metabolized into an even more potent intoxicant than when smoked. And once you've eaten it, you've eaten it. No more "Whoa that was a large puff, going to chill now." You are along for the ride.
In other words, ask your purveyor on the beaches of Jamaica for the recommended dosage of "space cake."
Hahahaha!

Hear, Hear! I have a very strong sense of smell. Last time I was in Vegas, it seemed the only way to get away from the smell was to go inside a building and smell cigarette smoke instead. Downtown Toronto wasn’t exactly that great, either, last time I was there.

I smell it when it’s edibles too.

Hmm, I haven't been around it enough to know if I would. I guess this is one of those rare times that smelling cotton candy or bubblegum vape smoke might be a good way to cover it up.
Vancouver isn't much better. It comes over my fence from the neighbours.
The stink from the legal grow operations out here in the fraser valley is getting pretty awful at times.
Hopefully they legalise it, tax the ever-loving-hell out of it like booze and everyone can get the hysteria, half-truths and misinformation out of their system.

My biggest issue with weed, living in Colorado, is that it's extremely poorly managed. The industry popped up and regulations are grossly lagging behind.
You see green crosses all over town and smell weed everywhere you go. Walking down the street, riding your bike, etc.
There's no level designated for what makes someone over the DUI limit with weed, not only that, there's no test for it! So in addition to me having to deal with all the zombies on their phones not paying attention, trying to kill me while I'm on my motorcycle, chances are also very high (get it?) that they're incredibly stoned as well...

I think going for a padel in a canoe is a great way to help with your addiction.

Why yes, yes I have.
I can remember, years ago, canoeing through a provincial park, enjoying a hearty spliff with my best friend when I hear something, look up and see a guy on a cliff beside the water waving at us and singing, ooh that smell, can’t you smell that smell?
Finally a topic I know something about and I somehow managed to miss it

Ever canoe on weed?
I did in 2019 in a Provincial park. I was told by the guy that passed me the blunt that it was legal, but I do not know if that was true or not as I'm not familiar with Ontario drug law. I'm assuming it was, only because he was an MD.

I have seen it too. It really does screw some people up in a serious way. The average person that tried it with no ill effects will just never accept how bad it is for some people.

Just to add to the anecdotes, my ex-brother in law liked pot. It didn't interfere greatly with his life and family until all of a sudden, it did. A lot. This took place right about the same time he was prescribed Ritalin. I don't know with scientific rigor if it wasn't just coincidence. But my whole family watched this guy go from being a nice feller, a good dad and husband, into a complete and total shiny happy person with a heaping side dish of psychosociopath in, like, a month.. It's a sample of one, but it's enough for me to say that pot and Ritalin are a real bad mix.

I have seen first hand the effects of prolonged pot usage, it is worse than alcoholism.
Third comment in, someone says something as an absolute... nothing is absolute. The very next post answers by being rude and insulting. And then proceeds to disagree by providing the same type of stuff. Other than a funny comment here and there, it mostly goes down hill from there.
I wasn't a member long before the rude azz hats became so visible when the virus brought peoples worst out. Was this how it was before, and I didn't notice? Or has it really gotten worse?

Ok guys, it's time for me to come clean and admit my addiction. I have been struggling with this since, well as long as I can remember. I am addicted to milk.
I have to have it. It's not a question of want. When you reach an addiction level like mine, you will drive to every grocery store in town if needed. I know all the stores that carry Maola, which is my favorite. It has what I crave. I don't care about chocolate milk, I can take it or leave it, but if asked about being stranded on an island and I can pick only one food to have, it would be milk.
It's not healthy for me, as I actually have a very mild lactose intolerance. I also can't stand milk substitutes or that god awful 2% crap. I've tried to quit, but I just go crazy. It's all I can think about.
The Food Lion near me has an Aldi and a Lidl close by. You can get a gallon of whole assed milk for $1.75
Funny how 2 years of change can affect a thread.
