I saw a nicely kitted-out 500 Abarth today. Adorning the back glass was a vinyl decal pronouncing the owner's affiliation with Sin City MoPars.
Without interjecting my own opinion, is a FIAT a MoPar?

I guess that means a Ferrari is a Mopar too.
Just when I thought those Mopar owners couldn't get any more irritating..
Well, last I knew, the US market 500 is built in the Mexican neon/PT plant.
When I was car shopping last year the only new car I considered was a base 500. After 9 years and 2 neons, I considered buying an Italian car built in a Mexican Chrysler plant... What could go wrong But the real reason I didn't was the no autoX thing.
But it all reminds me of the Daimler merger, and dodges became benzes.

Just wait 30 years when they start arguing about chalk marks on the firewall when they are restoring their 500's.. that will be irritating..

We totally can.

Actually, most of the hard core mopar fans I work for.. do not consider the 500 a Chrysler product
Judging by their website, Mopar parts are available for the Fiat 500: http://www.mopar.com/fiat/500/2013/

Now Vipers really are red neck Ferraris!
And I would say that its the other way around, MOPARs are FIATs now.
I should think most of the old-school Mopar guys with 440's and 383's would laugh at the notion of a Fiat being a Mopar. That may change after the last one dies of old age.
After the 500 debuted in the U.S. there was a special Mopar car that I saw at the New York Auto Show. It might have been an optional package, but I don't remember. It was black with off-set blue stripes, a suede shifter, and lots of other neat doo-dads. It was pre-Abarth and super-cool.

I've met hard core Mopar fans who do not consider anything after the Dodge Diplomat was canceled to be a real Chrysler product. With the possible exception of trucks.

That's how I see it.

Do they concider a JEEP to be?

You should hear the screaming among the faithful.
A couple of my company shirts say 'Magneti Marelli' and 'MOPAR' on them.
I still have the window sticker of the Abarth. Top right corner - "Chrysler Group LLC". One of the few options it didn't have was a MOPAR navigation-thing of some sort.
I feel it needs a giant Super Bee emblem on the side.

while not the prettiest thing on the planet.. it's still got what it takes to go offroading?
But then, I remember the uproar when the square headlighted jeep came out.. the faithful thought the end of the world was coming
