No, not just cuz it's different, because it's so stinking full of win. Put a 12V Cummins in there and giddyup!!
That's a lot of utility for under $20K. Awesome.
Question, though. What do they mean by 'bobbed'? Shortened 3', but with a longer driveshaft...huh?

So you'd pull out a 478 cubic inch multi fuel turbo diesel for a smaller 360 cubic inch turbo diesel? Why? At most I'd change the gearing so I could drive faster than 55-60 mph...
A reasonably sized deuce and a half appeals to me as a camper conversion. If it weren't for the ~50mph top speed, I'd be really, really excited. Is there an overdrive solution for these, or is a modern diesel driveline swap the best answer?

I didn't read the ad. I thought those came with a small gas engine? Didn't some of them?
I've heard less than stellar things about the multi-fuel vehicles, would that make it nice to drop in a 12V?
These bring back awesome memories of running the tank trails and training grounds at Ft. Lost in the Woods!!

Because it's rated for all of 130hp and 330ftlbs of torque? You can grab an early cummins and get more power right off the bat. Bigger aftermarket, and replacement parts aren't as expensive(I would imagine).
Seems to me to be a fairly intelligent swap.

So it gets something that resembles fuel mileage instead of fuel yardage.
If the top speed with stock tires is 56 mph, it already has the "highway" gears.
Defintiely awesome, regardless. Personally, I've always thought a half-track would be cool.
The guy who lives next door to my brother in law bought a deuce and a half last year and now all of his neighbors hate him. I guess it doesn't fit the profile of the neighborhood.
