Latest on the Bronco

Ford needs to come out with the configurator because I need full options pricing.  Im shopping like 3 trims.

1. Base, 2.7, Squatch

2. Black Diamond, 2.7, Squatch

3. Badlands with the manual.

Test mules usually have VINs but are EX suffix for experimental and non-saleable vehicles, also it may not have VIN Tags in every location but usually they at least present on the windshield/dash area.

I really like it. But after reading about the different trims/packages.............the one I'd want will be way too damn expensive to justify.

But I'm glad they are making it. 

Well its official the configurator wont be out till december. Ford has bodged this launch good.

OK i have worked out some rough numbers for package pricing if anyone is interested.

Also build and price is out in September apparently.

2 Door pricing.

Auto is $1500
Mid is $1000
2.7 is $1500
Sasquatch is $7500
Sasquatch on the Badlands/FE is $2000
High/Lux Combined is $9000 (cant break it down further with current info)

here is my math 

So doing my daily change what trim level I want. I started looking at trim differences between BadLands and Wildtrak.
I know there are some other differences but this is just a general guess.

The X-plan price difference is $6518
What you get in the wildtrak that you don't in the BadLands is
Mid
Sasquatch
2.7
Auto
So lets say $6000 for the 4 packages

The difference between the Black Diamond and Outer Banks is $2791 for
Mid
Auto.

So I will say $2500 for Mid and Auto
Which leaves $3500 for 2.7 and Sasquatch
The 10 speed upgrade on the mustang ecoboost is $1500
So Auto is $1500
Mid is $1000

That leaves the 2.7 and Sasquatch
the 2.7 is a $1000 upgrade on the F150 but I would think it would be more on the bronco since it is the highest engine option. The 5.0 is $1500 and the 3.5 is $2500 on the F150.
The Sasquatch is only Wheels and Tires on the Badlands.

I would say
$2000 for the Sasquatch on the Badlands
$1500 for the 2.7.

So 2.7+Auto combo is likely $3000

Ok now knowing those,
WildTrak vs Outerbanks
The price difference is $9535
Trim differences is 2.7 and Sasquatch
Using the pricing from my other post

Lets start with $9000 for 2.7 and Sasquatch
2.7 is $1500
So the full Sasquatch package is $7500

FE/Wildtrak Differences is just High/Lux package
So that would put High/Lux package at at least $9000 combined.

What's the "mid" that you're referring to?  $7500 for the Sasquatch package seems like a lot.

Sasquatch is also a heavy duty front differential and Axles

Stock is a Dana 30 equivalent and upgraded is a Dana 44 equivalent 

There are a few different places online that have all the trim levels and packages thoroughly detailed.

Wouldn't it be fun to go thrash on a new vehicle that you didn't own or have to pay to fix.

Interesting that they did the Rubicon with 33" tires. I wonder if that was a way of saying "this isn't even my final form!"

We did the rubicon in a grand wagoneer on 33s with a Detroit locker rear. It's not so bad. That was 15 years ago though, maybe it's changed.

I'd guess it's an intentional dig at Jeep.

Doing the trail that Jeep used to name their top of the line model, without needing to even go to the Broncos top of the line off road package, seems like an intentional act. 

Watching the above videos:

1. I know zlich about offroading.  I know the Rubicon is supposed to be hard, but no idea of those were "hard" sections or easy ones
2. The scraping and bumping noises made me wince every time and can't see myself ever doing that.
3. If the above is what the Bronco is capable of/designed for, I have no justification for owning one

I still want one.  Although I guess I'd be a poseur because I doubt I'd ever take it offroad.

That is the kind of driving that Broncos and Wranglers are capable of, and TBH, probably right at the edge of the territory where the Wrangler starts to outperform the Bronco. It is also more likely the average driver will do an autocross than drive something like that. Living in central Georgia I'd have to drive 3 hours and pay to play to get to anything 1/2 that gnarly. Which is what makes me laugh at all the lifted, double-locked, fenderless Jeeps with winches and jacks driving to work. 

I'd love to try some of that but there's no way I'm building a vehicle for it. OTOH if I lived out west - abso-freakin-lutely.

Man, that spotter's placement made me nervous in the first two videos. 

Seems like the front suspension has a good amount of travel. That's nice to see. 

Does anyone know if that neat Trail Turn Assist is standard equipment?

The scraping and denting made me wince too. That Bronco is already beat to hell. If I was ever into that kind of off roading I would have something other than my new daily driver to drive. Most likely I would start with a side by side and mod it.

That is a pro spotter from one of the tour services/clubs in the area i believe.

The trail turn assist is standard on all automatic bronco's

yea they do, they are all badlands, they turn the front locker on in the first or second video

Oh really? I thought the lockers were only with the 35s. Good news.

Yea on the badlands everything except the lift, flares and 35's w/ beadlocks is the same as the sasquatch package. the auto is 4.46 instead of 4.7 but the manual is 4.7.so if you want a manual sasquatch just buy a badlands and add 35's
