This is true! We use the Finish tablet style stuff in our Bosch and are happy with it. It's more expensive than the generic stuff but works way better.

I actually going to agree with Dr Hess about something other than Lotus being the answer.

We do not own a Bosch dishwasher but we do own a front load Bosch washing machine. We've had it for over 10 years and it takes everything we can throw at it including muddy horse blankets. Our dishwasher is a Meile and the only way you know it's working is by looking to see if the light is on.

I think it's clear: Bosch is the Miata of dishwashers.

A home thread relative to our interests. our 10 year old, no-name-installed-with-the-house dishwasher is getting worse. THe metal racks are losing tabs (rusting off, whoops), it's getting louder by the day. It's to the point that if the dishwasher is on, don't bother trying to watch TV with sound. You won't hear it. It wasn't quiet new, but it's obnoxious now.

We were looking at both the KithenAid (46dB) and the Bosch (49dB). IIRC they were around the $700 mark. Decent?

Bosch makes some Kenmore Elite models as well. It's clear which ones when you look inside the tub.

I used to sell them. I would only get a Bosch, myself, as I never used heated dry to begin with. Use a rinse aid and no spots. Kitchen aid is fine too though. Don't believe the dB ratings, they're rated by the manufacturers, and not accurate.

So we got this one. Ultimately it was my wife's choice and she did not like the Bosch washers because the tines are too close together and she did not think it would work with our dishes. We looked at more expensive ones but it seemed as if you got the same washer with more features, rather than a better quality washer. Thanks for all the input.
