My parents have a vacation house that will get water in the basement. The root cause can't be fixed without significant investment that will never be worth it, so it will just continue to be pumped out.
However, we need a camera down there to monitor remotely to make sure that there are no issues. Something like a trail camera--take a picture once every hour or so. We have wifi up there, so that shouldn't be any issue. Any thoughts as to what would be good for this?
For something that simple I'd go with the cheapest one that allows remote viewing.
I wouldn't bother with a trail camera, you're just looking for a cheap webcam.
But what you REALLY need is something that will monitor for leaks 24-7 and let you know by email or other method if there's a problem instead of waiting for you to remember to check the feed. That's a "smart leak detector". Like this: https://www.amazon.com/Zircon-Leak-Alert-WiFi-Electronic/dp/B0748RK2XQ/

I have game cameras and a Blink security system and I think that Keith's suggestion is the best for what you want. Next i would go with Blink which will let you do a live view from anywhere at any time you have a cell phone connection.
