My borrowed 360 arrived with a stack of games I've never heard of (and not a single car one!).

Sooo...

What do I buy/play for cheap in between now and Forza4? And don't say Forza3...

On my PS2 I loved Colin McCrae Rally, ToCA Race Driver, and ShoX Rally.

Black Ops?

Well, you took away my answer. But, know that there's some importing that will be done from Forza 3 savegames into Forza 4. That was from the sneak preview from the developers that was linked on the Forza 4 thread.

Dirt2? Forza 2?

GTA4 was good (but not really a car game).

Test Drive Unlimited was fairly entertaining. You have an entire Hawaian island to hoon around and explore. Then do a race and go find the dealership with the Caterham at it.

Never heard of this one, sounds interesting!

All the games that came with it are shooters and/or fighting. There's a pretty cool one about uniting China where you basically run around as a Mongol butchering people.

the first Dirt is the best for courses, but Dirt 3 is the best of all worlds. I don't really like that you have to learn to be good at Ghymkhana to advance through the game, it's kinda like Drifting in the Need For Speed groupings of games.

Obviously you have to get Forza.

I used to be adament against first person shooters, until I played call of duty. The campaign storylines are epic.

Test Drive Unlimited 2 has been out for a few months now, look into that.

Otherwise the original Test Drive Unlimited is still a very good game and you could probably find it for a few bucks these days.

You could probably get Race Pro very cheaply now too. It came out right after Forza 3 and I dont think it really caught on. I think its similar to those toca games.

Dirt was good. for arcadey racing, check out Need for Speed Most Wanted, Need for Speed Carbon, and Need for Speed Pro Street. Skip everything else, unless you wanna belly up to a copy of Need for Speed Hot Pursuit. Split Second is another good one, as well as any of the Burnout series.

I'm nearly thru the game and still SUCK at gymkhana. This would've been much nicer as an extra rather than required gameplay. That said, the full Battersea Powerstation course has beefed up my ability for opposite lock via controller.

Oh...and Fallout...get Fallout.

Basically anything by Bethesda games is great!

In reply to Maroon92:

I'm on my third play though of Oblivion. Just finished my third on Fallout 3, too. Maybe I should get Morrowind out again...Or Daggerfall for that matter. Of course I dont have a Dos PC to run Daggerfall at the momment.

I would day Dirt. Don't bother with the Need For Speed series. It will only piss you off.

I had the Need for Speed's on my PS2 and PC, I'm over them (except for Porsche Unleashed, when they are going to re-do that one?).

Dirt3 sounds good, I'll jump into that.

My 2nd favorite PS2 game was Star Wars: Battlefront II because I could A: Murder Ewoks and B: Space combat! Do they have the equivalent on XBOX 360?

I hate those games. A lot of people like them, though.

The jump from PS2 to 360 was huge. The NFS series got much better with the release of SHIFT!

I don't understand why I like to collect things in games while trying to get higher stats. Must be my caveman like hunting and gathering qualities.

And see SHIFT pissed me off. That game was the low point in the NFS series with me, along with Undercover. Goddamn that game was junk.

I love the Gears of War series. The girlfriend and I have had many hours of co-op carnage with those games. We're really looking forward to the next one coming out.

Oh, don't forget Portal and now Portal 2. I hadn't thought of those (or Fallout for that matter) because I'm used to doing those on PC. Just got Portal 2 yesterday and are planning some mad co-op insanity this evening.

For Co-Op, I would recommend Borderlands Game of the Year edition.
