If you haven't seen it, see it.
So far it's the best movie Fox has done with any of the X-Men. And it's definitely not a comic book movie.

It's on the list--reviews are super strong. Not that they're necessary when you have the Jackman.

I'm going with my son this afternoon. It's 20F and windy here today so even if it's not all win I'm thrilled they do it indoors.

Dunno about that. A lot of comic books are quite dark and gory. Wolverine and comics that center around him are known for pushing this pretty far.
I say that not having seen it yet. It's on my list, but I want to see "John Wick 2" first.

The gory violence wasn't what I meant. It was an actual movie more than it was all action.
I wasn't that taken with it, but I never read the comics. The previous movies in the series were closer to my tastes. My lukewarm take shouldn't be considered a condemnation.
Lots and lots of gratuitous violence. Dark, morose, and a bit depressing.
It's well acted and interesting but I think it takes itself a little too seriously to be enjoyable to people looking for a superhero action movie.
It's like going to see a Clint Eastwood western for the lighthearted murderous fun after seeing all his spaghetti westerns and getting Unforgiven instead.
Loved it. Not so much a "superhero" movie, more of a western in the style of Unforgiven and such. I can see why Stewart and Jackman are done, this was a poignant end, and some of the best acting I've seen from either of them.
I thought it was pretty good (not great). But I thought the other Wolverine movies were decent as well. I'm not sure how people can think Logan is GREAT and The Wolverine is HORRIBLE.

Lots of people have real misconceptions about comic books. Plenty of stories in comic books. Nor do they necessarily stick to a set genre. Walking Dead, Hellraiser/John Constantine, Ghost in the Shell, Akira, Hellboy, Watchmen, V for Vendetta, 300, Road to Perdition are all comic books. Comic books frequently have less action sequences in them than most people realize. Takes a lot of cells to show not much time.
Super Heroes aren't a genre but more like modern demi-god archetypes (like Hercules or Ulysses) to use for telling stories. Some of those stories are mindless action. Some are campy. Some are dark, brooding, and philosophical. If anything, the most common format of super-hero comics is more like soap opera than anything else.
I left work two hours early today to see it for lunch time. I was the ONLY one in the theater to see it. Awesome. Well, it was in RPX too so nobody could have really bothered me. Anyway, the movie was excellent and I was not disappointed. Too bad it took them so long to get the "formula" right for Hugh Jackman in this one.
The Deadpool teaser was hilarious too.

This actually makes me want to go see it.
I liked parts of it and thought other parts were just dumb or poorly written. I would say what but there would be spoilers. Overall, I thought it was OK but 20 minutes too long.
I'm planning to go this weekend. Just asked my 15 y.o. son if he'd be interested in going and got a resounding "YES".
ranty bit: Apparently his stepfather went and took his 19 y.o. daughter but not my kid. Thanks jackhole.
My son is named Logan, after Wolverine, and wants to go see it. He's 5. Yeah, may have to wait until its on TV, sorry.

If it was edited for television it would be about 8 min long.
There is not a whole lot of movie between gruesome slaughterings.
Well, people are posting a meme on Facebook that appears to be about something else and then has the ending written on the bottom. Thanks for purposely spoiling movies, berkface.

It's a pretty dick move. I remember when Star Wars 7 came out, I was reading a review on a big newspaper's website and they totally spoiled Kylo Ren's identity with no spoiler warnings. I promptly went ballistic in their comments section and within 5 minutes my comment had been deleted and they locked the comments section.

This; very much this. We watched it with another couple, and at the end we all kind looked at each other and said, "Well, that was depressing." Gritty and violent and not even a hint of comic relief. Not a bad movie at all, maybe even good, but they absolutely nailed the lid onto the franchise's coffin with giant 60D spikes, buried it deep, and poured concrete over it.
