i bought a couple of work trucks along the east coast. first stop portland ME sunday night. (flying stand-by) my buddy and i are lookin for a cool LOCAL bar to watch the superbowl and get E36 M3ty in portland maine.
never been, know nothing about it.
where is cool? where to avoid, etc...
Get down to the Old Port and take your pick.
I used to live in Portland and I love that city.
If you can get in i would try and get in to the Sea dog, aside from that yes the old port is going to be your best bet.
From what i remember it is one of the few cities you don't really have to avoid anywhere.
The only place I can remember in Portland is the art museum. They had the entire side of a Mitsubishi Eclipse hung on a wall and it was painted up pretty wild. I'm sure I was drunk at the time, but I don't remember where I imbibed! This was sometime in the early 1990's.

I'd have to agree w/that. It's a cool(but small) area to walk around and" trouble" is easy to find, if you're looking.
There are some excellent breweries in Maine including Shipyard in Portland.
Gritty's has good beer.
There is also a decent indoor karting place in Scarborough, which isn't very far away(Maine indoor karting).
