I figured this would be a good place to ask. I recently bought an old race car that had a "built" 2276 VW motor in it. It ran years ago before being stored and it's just now sitting here waiting for me to decide what to do with it. I'm looking for a reputable engine builder to take it apart, inspect all the internal pieces/parts and rebuild it to its former glory. Old-school air-cooled VW shops are not very abundant here in northeast PA, but I'm hoping that someone knows of one close by within a few hours drive.

Any info is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

These guys in Tiffin https://www.facebook.com/aircooledenginesplus/(Columbus Ohio Area) are supposed to be good.  If you are willing to make that drive I have another old dude that does it on the side and was a VW tech for 40+ years.  Kind of a hike for you though...
