I borrow a kid once in a while - my sister in law has 3, and there's always one who wants to come play at my place because 1) more fun and 2) no siblings. But I get to give them back :)
This. I love visiting my brother and playing uncle.
I get to play with my nieces for as long is as fun for me, and hand them back. And my brother and his wife THANK us for it, because it's a couple hours that they don't have to worry.

Goes hand in hand with the anti EV mentality. People assume that if you make a decision different from theirs then that means you think you're better than them or something, and they get offended.
I think part of it is that they want monoculture and if you get an EV then somewhere down the line they will have to get an EV because they do what "everyone else" does once it hits critical mass.

My cousin doesn't have kids. I don't know why not, never asked, because it's none of my berkin' business. He loves being an uncle to my other cousin's three kids, though.
