I don't think so. Her money is separate from being a politician's inlaw. It's just a billionaire sinking a tesla.
Edit: Mitch was the least interesting part of the article I read. The shifter is on the touchscreen and she accidentally put it in reverse instead of drive, she called for help and somehow everyone including first responders had trouble with the windows, and her husband still loves Tesla and Elon, and isn't mad at either of them. It almost sounded a bit suspicious.

Tesla Kool-Aid might actually be stronger than Apple Kool-Aid.
I want to take the RX-7 out this week but there are still literal piles of salt on the roads because it hasn't rained for weeks.

A conspiracy theorist would wonder if there was a special "software update" so it would end up in reverse regardless of which gear she selected.

I have to get my Spyder out of storage at a friend's, swap the transmission and clutch, and get a top put on it, plus put 500 miles on it to break-in the clutch before the first autocross. I'm also busy the weekend of March 23rd and out of town the weekend of April 20th, so I'm kinda panicking at how to get it done in time. We had just gotten enough rain to clean up the roads last Sunday, and I was going to call my friend and see if I could grab it this weekend. Then Sunday night we got literally a half inch of snow and between when I woke up at 6am and when I went to work at 7:30am, four plow trucks went by my house, every one of them spreading pure salt. And now there's no rain in the forecast. I was berkeleying pissed.

Mud tires do not work on ice. At all. Much to the chagrin of those of us sensible to dress for the weather (IE buy actual winter tires for use in the winter)
