Most people hate Necco Wafers (chalk, drywall joint compound). I love them.
I mentioned the other day to a group that since they've been around since 1847 Abe Lincoln might've been eating Necco Wafers as he wrote his speeches. (Write a paragraph or a page, enjoy a stack of wafers)......

As someone who has Charlie Farley as their head of state I should really call this out as being blatantly political and inappropriate on this forum, the problem is my dark humour sees it a actually being really funny

Does the royal family count as political? I thought they were mostly decorative.

All I can think of when I remember that Charles is King now.
Hopefully William is a better King than Chuck.

I believe they prefer to be thought of as "ornamental"...just like putting those cute little perforated paper things at the end of turkey legs...nothing changes but it conceals the reality of bones and blood and tendons and stuff.
In reply to Wally (Forum Supporter) :
At risk of being sent to the back porch the Royal's are largely decorative / ceremonial but despite that, under what passes for our system of government, all power NOMINALLY derives from them. Personally, I have issues with most politicians / political systems and I'm happy to laugh at all them ...
To be honest I thought it was really funny but the OP called me on something with no political connotations a wee while back so I thought I'd return the sentiment
In reply to RichardNZ :
It seems the Royals serve a purpose doing appearance functions so that politicians don't have to do them. It seems to work well enough and supplies a certain level of entertainment.
Unrelated for the music types:

Can't tell if that's Bean or strung out Daniel Radcliffe?
Also
In reply to RichardNZ :
As this is a US-based forum, the Royals aren't our politics.
In reply to Peabody :
I don't get it, but it still somehow makes sense.

Happy birthday to my high school girlfriend. The Ides of March is a memorable day to have chosen for your entry to the world.
Now, back to Abe...
