Most people hate Necco Wafers (chalk, drywall joint compound). I love them.
I mentioned the other day to a group that since they've been around since 1847 Abe Lincoln might've been eating Necco Wafers as he wrote his speeches. (Write a paragraph or a page, enjoy a stack of wafers)......
Happy birthday to my high school girlfriend. The Ides of March is a memorable day to have chosen for your entry to the world.
Now, back to Abe...

I don't get it, but it still somehow makes sense.
In the 90's VW bought Skoda, and Skodas just became re-branded VW's.

We've had a problem with people parking trucks illegally on city streets. This has been a remarkable deterrent:
In reply to rdcyclist :
I know a guy who steals the valve stem cores out of illegally parked vehicles...
In reply to Recon1342 :
That's a good way to make sure they'll stay there longer.

In the short term, yes. In the long term...? Not if they are smart.
I may or may not have carried needle nose pliers in my glove box for doing this when needed. I may or may not have then taped all 4 valve cores to the windshield directly in front of the driver's face.

You're trying to teach one person at a time. That's not effective as a deterrent in the long term unless only one person is the problem because there are many more people with the same behavior. And in the short term, you've made the problem worse because now the vehicle can't be moved without repair or a tow.
Can't see it as an overall win.

I agree that it doesn't make sense... Several people have also told him the same thing. It's bad, but at least he ain't stealing lugnuts.

Only need to reach one person at a time, if it's the right person.

When a high school kid banging the babysitter across the street screamed at me when I asked him to move his car in front of my driveway, somehow, mysteriously the lead weights from the front left and right rear wheels fell off.
Act of God.

God works in mysterious ways after all.

What, you want the rules to apply to everyone?
