I've had that happen and then I'll get up, get dressed, go out to the garage and put a wrench on that damn nut! Then go back to bed and sleep like a baby.

I don't usually put a wrench on it, but I will write a note on a piece of painters tape and stick it in the middle of the dash or steering wheel.
Piff!! Wait till you are trying to remember if the snapping in the back of transmission you just put in a car was flat or bevel side up.

I got paid to test drive a Fiat 500 ~4 years ago. The Abarth was raspy and pretty loud. It didn't really feel all that fast though...the acceleration didn't quite match the noise. The dealership didn't have any new Abarths and the used one they had was out of warranty...so it was an easy "pass"
I can't remember the exact amount, but it was worth an hour of my time...$75 or $100. if I remember correctly. I assumed the gift card would show up in the mail in a month or two...but it showed only a few days later.
My son and I are betting on which annoying people we know will first post this on social media tomorrow, excluding me of course.

Probably shouldn't do that.
Not only is it just weak humor, it's also helping remind him of the time when his Dad died when he was ten.
