Alcos, like that one, were turbocharged 4-strokes. Which was why they threw up huge clouds of black smoke when throttle up, compared to their supercharged 2-stroke competitors that just hazed blue.

I grew up dirt poor southern so we just imagined an Acme rocket on our back as we jumped off the roof.
