From somebody that got butt hurt about skinny jeans? I guess everyone has to be PC, unless you think it funny...
Personally, I'm not offended by either one, but thats just me.

Funny story, I had pretty much this exact thing happen to me. I got a pretty bad cut on broken glass and needed to go to ER to be stitched up. There was a conversation between the attending and the 12 year old looking resident between the "soundproof" curtain. I don't remember the verbage, but I took the conversation as the attending telling the resident, "I've finished my part of the exam, he's ready for you to stitch him up." My wife, who also heard the conversation (but fortunately didn't tell me about her interpretation) basically heard the attending giving the resident a "you're ready for this, get in there skippy". Her version of the conversation was confirmed when I went to the GP to get the stitches pulled and he said "Was this a jagged cut?" Me: "Sort of, why?" Him, "Well, if it wasn't, this is a pretty crappy job of stitching."

When I had my appendix out, the surgeon asked me: "So, how do you want to do this?"
I told him that I felt that decision was his job and not mine.
Turns out there's a couple different ways and he was giving me the option of two small scars or one larger one. I just told him do do whatever he was most comfortable with.
Bit of a fun conversation though.

"Hey, who's the barber here?"
Had an old school, no nonsense doc glue my thumb back together after I dumped my motorcycle. He explained the procedure, outlining the incision on my hand.
I stopped him and asked if he could make a jog in the incision. Why, he asked? So, when it heals, it looks like a lightning bolt.
I actually got him to chuckle as he said no, we can't do that.
