My elementary & middle school had steel jungle gyms and big metal slides in 80s. They seemed massive at the time (in retrospect they were maybe 15 feet tall). I do recall someone falling and breaking his arm before they were replaced by fancy wooden structures w/plastic slides, etc. & soft mulch.

That's the worst part, it's not even a meme. Here is the article. I'm not sure how you'd avoid a take on any project that involves motor vehicle traffic above 25mph
