Soooo I'm a boomer because I'm patriotic on D-Day? Because that meme reflects the feeling some people have on youth? It's a copy-paste job. Done.
THIS is a Boomer!

No disrespect for you grandpa, I am sure it was bad. But he had a far lower chance of ending up like this then the guys in the landing craft pic (probably Omaha beach, at least a few waves in) above had:
Those weren't boomers storming the beach. They were the parents of boomers. I gotta say, people have really lost track of when the baby boom was - I've been called a boomer by some mouth-breathing YouTube commenter, and I'm Gen X.
(and yes, I get gearheadmb's humor, it was a good one).
In reply to Keith Tanner :
Shhhhhhhh! I'm pretty sure we're better off being forgotten in every war-of-the-generations discussion. Or any generational discussion at all.

In my life I've been classified as Generation X, Generation Y, Generation Z, and Millennial. I'm sticking with "Gen Why"

You seem to have a short memory. It wasn't along ago un Gen Xers were the butt of all the lazy and entitled jokes by the boomers and the silent generation. Wait another five mins and we will prbably be in a (social media / big crop media) created pissing match with Gen Z or Alpha.

Anyone who responds to a discussion with Boomer, Millennial, or Gen whatever has already proven themselves to be more a troll than a critical thinker.
At that point...

Joking about gas prices aside. Am I the only one who actively avoids gas stations with the freaking horrible TV screens sending ad's and 'news' to you? When I find you've added GSTV or whatever its called, you've just earned yourself a place on Adrian's no buys list.
Bloody few WW2 vets left. My father in law passed away a couple of years ago at 95. He served in cold hell, i.e. the Aleutian islands. It really bummed him out that all his war buddies died before him. Beats the alternative, but outlasting your loved ones is a special sort of sad.
My father is no longer with us. He was in the Marine Corps in the South Pacific. I put a flag on his grave this last Memorial Day.
My grandfather was a couple years behind that. He flew for the Navy in the Pacific. His squadron was slated to provide close air support for the invasion of mainland Japan. Hearing tell of their briefing... holy hell was that going to be horrific.

My grandpa was also in the Aleutian islands for a lot of the war.
