You either like it or you don't. I won't try to convince you you're wrong. But the chaotic, disjointed, confusing, awkward, and unfulfilling nature of (most of) that movie resonated with my own life at the time. And with a love in my life now, I can truly understand Barry's monologue to the mattress man.

The movie got some reviews, which led us to giving it a shot. I think the problem for Mrs. VCH was this role was so different that all of the previous Adam Sandler roles, it was hard for her to watch. From my perspective, the movie was just full of awful people, doing awful things, with no real redemption. In the end, two awful people found each other, but I didn't really have hope that they would stay together, or that life would be better for them. Unlike, say, High Fidelity, where you have deeply flawed main characters but you can tell they're trying, and have generally good intentions, and there's at least a glimmer of hope for things to get better as the credits roll.
I mean, I guess that's life for some people, and sometimes people suck, and life sucks for ever and ever, but I don't enjoy spending 2 hours of my life to be reminded of that.

IT's OK, because ear worms are eternal.

You see meme material, I see an inexpensive convertible for the summer of 2022!

The word "convertible" suggests that this ex-automobile - this stolen and wrecked Nissan Altima - can be converted back into a closed car. Summer fun or no, I'm not seeing it.
No meme this time. I'm tired.
