Not to sound egotistical Wally, but at least one of us would look good in a dress.
My first boss had a sailboat and we’d go racing after work Wednesday’s in the summer. Boat name? Seacup. Because it was just a bit bigger than a “B” cup. And yes, Al’s wife would race with us and she was / is awesome.
Unrelated? I’m entered in a sailboat race tomorrow on the 48 year old Sunfish I learned to sail on. I took it out today for a little practice in some pretty “sporty” conditions and didn’t drown / die so there’s still some teenager left after all. Supposed to be equally sporty tomorrow, we’ll see if treachery, local knowledge and general stupidity can overcome the rest of the “fleet”. 11GTCS is way heavier than he was as a teenager and that’s not necessarily an asset on a Sunfish. Pray for me brothers!
2nd minor confession; I’m really hoping for some epic interfleet smack talk.
They always harp on about the best way to be competitive at driving is seat time. But I'm actually racing much less than last year or the year before and I'm higher in standings than I have ever been.
I've come to realize that I've done myself a disservice by buying wood working hand tools from big box stores, wishing I had brought back some of the old hand planes, chisels, etc., from the house in Germany.
This leads me to a second confession, that for woodworking, I don't care for modern tools all that much. The extra time spent planing something by hand versus making a complete mess with my DeWalt planer is easily made up by the fact that clean up is far quicker with a hand plane, and my cars/garage aren't covered in dust even if I close the damn garage door and plane in the driveway. My garage is a vortex and sucks air in, and with it, leaves and dust, hurray.
Now for a third confession, I'm actually looking up antique stores to go tool hunting... I just want a quality No. 4 plane, and a nice jointer plane like a No. 7 or 8.

Go to Shopgoodwill.com.
Search plane.
Mixed in with toy airplanes and planet items are vintage hand planes. They always go for cheap. Hope you can find a good deal.

Thanks!
I've been meaning to stop at a few Goodwills and Salvation Armies in the area to check for retrocomputing equipment, but hadn't thought about tools. Ordering online is even better!
I confess if I said it's "no problem" it's a lot harder than I thought.
We're doing a kitchen remodel and our contractor bailed so we become the general. I'm doing a lot of the work the general was going to do.
We are saving money but this is a lot of work. Lots of day offs and Saturday's. I'm exhausted.
So that sailboat race I was talking about last night? Windy as all heck today, a solid 2 hours on a Sunfish and....
I freaking won! Lol. Some really good sailors in the group, I grew up here and know the wind patterns pretty well, at the end it was mostly luck and I won by about a minute. The old Sunfish hasn’t moved that fast since I was 17/18 years old. Oh and wow am I sore tonight. Lol.
I was next to a metallic lime green Dodge Viper at a traffic light the other day. I looked over and noticed that his license plate was UNV-ME.
I do not.
Them: Appleseed, people have taken advantage of you and treated you like E36 M3. Why are you still kind?
Me: Because people have taken advantage of me and treated me like E36 M3.

I might have, until I read that license plate. After that, I PTY U.
Ive been doing really good lately with intermittent fasting, watching what i eat, cut back on salt and caffeine and carbs, etc. Lost an ince or three off my big belly.
Today, i was really hungry for McDonald's fries, nuggets. So i decided to splurge.
The nuggets and fries sucked, and so did their burger. Not happy i ate that.
But the salt was AWESOME.

Only one thing to be said:
In the last month I've bought two running cars and got rid of one non running car. I've gone from 18% running to 33% running. I'm going to call this adulting.
The Miata is pretty much demoted from long-distance traveling and hasn't done much street-driving, so part of me is considering making it a bit more serious for next year's autocross season.
Me, to myself: "I really need another project car."
Also me: (Looks around the garage...sees several sets of brand new brake pads still waiting to be installed, a never used code scanner, recently purchased but still in the box, and three pairs of Recaro seats awaiting restoration...)

Figures don't lie but liars can figure?

I suppose my view on the novel was pretty objective, since I didn't know who he was and wasn't going into the novel with my perception colored by that. So, objectively, he sucks as an author.
Same here. Read it in 6th-ish grade, and think the only reason I chugged through it was because it was the longest fiction book in the library. I want to say it was over 1k pages (mainly because of tiny pages)
