I was dreading going to my folks yesterday for Thanksgiving after work, then I heard a neighboring jurisdiction take a call about a cardiac arrest and reporting that family members on scene were attempting CPR. When the medic arrived, they advised the patient was "Code Gray" which means deceased, for those who aren't familiar.
I left work bound and determined to not take any political bait at dinner because life is too damn short.
Whoever designed permanently installed series wired lights on fake Christmas trees can suck my balls.
Apparently the brake switch I need for the Fakata F-Body (ACDelco D1567D) is unobtanium locally. Amazon, Summit, Rock Auto and the rest don't seem to have it, either.
I must search harder...

It is amazing how many parts are not available for 4h-gens.

Oh, you can get a switch for a 95 or later all day long. The 94 is an odd duck.
Edit: I found one as "Standard Motor Products SLS180 Brake Light Switch"
15 year win streak against our in state rival (only game that matters in declaring a season "good") expired today...it's the end of an era. Hope we can start a new round of whoopin's next year!
Well now I can say I've had dinner with 4 psychology teachers, because that's everyones goal isn't it?. berkeley me running. Thanksgiving part 2 was nowhere near as fun, but it sounds like I left just in time to miss the politics debate. Although me, discussing politics with 4 70plus year old female psychology teachers might have been more enjoyable than the daylight savings discussion, or why Song of the South won't be on Disney +, or what bitches the other members of their church group are.
I have also been told that I will be responsible for cooking for all future holidays. Dammit, don't do that to me. I want to do it cause it's fun for me, not because your family doesn't know how to cook.

The upside to that is you get to pick who gets invited, then.

Sounds like you need to make Moose Turd pie.
(it's good, though)

Yeah, that sucked... My 12 year old has never experienced a football loss to the Hoos. Next year, we begin a new one.

I'm gonna guess VPI vs Va. Not sure going up against Trevor Lawrence is much of a reward. I watched the last few minutes when I saw the score online. Wasn't too impressed by either offense.

Eh, one of them is the GFs mom. At least hopefully by this time next year we'll be hosting in our own house with a kitchen big enough to turn around in.
Drove to Florida to deliver my 70 yo step mom to her winter home. Crashing in the guest room (worst pillows to have ever existed) and lurched awake at 2:45 am. I don't want or need to be awake right now thanks.
Turkey is a spiteful, hateful meat.
You can't prove me wrong.
Off to make turkey omelette because there is 6 pounds of turkey in the fridge and the only thing I think sucks more than turkey (it's like chicken, only tougher and drier) is the thought of wasting food.
I mean, hell, last week I was scraping all the green parts off of a potato before I ate it, now you give me a giant Tupperware of turkey I have to eat before it goes bad?
In reply to Knurled. :
pan fry it until it's crispy. Sure it'll be drier and tougher but I remember liking it that way. Even the dark meat.

The turkey I made the other day was - and remains - juicy and tender. I'm looking forward to a turkey sammich for lunch and I will probably put the carcass in the Instant Pot later on to make some soup.
My rant is that my idiot dog climbed up on the counter and knocked off an unopened bottle of Evan Williams BiB. Sure, it was a super cheap bottle, but a whole bottle of good whisky just wasted...

I don't like crispy... anytthing.
Also, I voluntarily took a huge hunk of dark meat yesterday and realized that it berking sucked, but I had put this guant hunk on my plate already, so I had to grin and bear it.
The stuffing turned out glorious, at least.

My leftovers: chopped them up to itty bitty pieces. Liked chopped bbq pork size. Then, mixed in a bunch of sweet baby rays sweet and tangy bbq sauce. Made almost a dip consistency .
Then, and heres the secret:
Nuke it till steaming hot, grab some cheap and extra salty tortilla chips and eat it like a dip. Its actually really good.
Or, you at least have nothing to lose.

I never understood why people wanted their wings cooked well. Tried it once and I'll never go back. Especially when you get an edible piece of the bone that's charred. Mmm.
Blue cheese only. Ranch blows. Steak must not go over medium rare however unless it's one of those super thin diner ones.

You're on the right track. Leftover turkey is at its best in tamales. Boil it down with tomatoes, peppers, and onions. Then get some helpers over to wrap them up and little time in a big steamer and you have a fantastic day after Thanksgiving.
In reply to Knurled. :
Try deep frying a turkey. It costs more, and is more work, but it won't be dry.
Turkey dark meat is delicious. Turkey is fine, as long as yo own a meat thermometer. Leftovers make a very nice turkey pie.
I can tell already I'm going to wake up tomorrow feeling like i got hit by a bus. I hate having to move non-running cars around the driveway.
I can feel my depression kicking in full bore. It's something I have dealt with my entire life but man does it hit hard on the holidays.
Just this week my mother ended up in the ER. Work has been a cluster berkeley, my sister in law broke her foot. I have a F150 of my brother in law sitting on jacks for the last three weeks in my driveway because for some unholy reason I cannot get the transmission out. The icing is my old Persian cat who I love has pancreatitis and is E36 M3ting everywhere which he has never once done. Then between property taxes, some attorney E36 M3 and tires I am out close to 11k in four days.
could be worse but my brain is not taking all this well and the gym is closed so I cannot go throw weights around to feel better.
on a positive note my machine downward press is 365. Which means on more plate and I can push 2x my body weight. Bench has stalled at 255 for reps for almost two months though.
The place I ordered the brake switch from just refunded my money.
Apparently there are no new brake switches available for a '94 F-Body.
