Zx2 has a rough idle at times, no codes beyond a fuel cap which has been replaced and everything thru Torque looks decent, only thing out of ordinary is vacuum is at 26in at 800rpm which shouldn't be a problem as far as I know
So the car has another odd issue I'll have to track down
My rant is that I have a rant, but I don't think I can really talk about it.

I really don't care that you're buying things. I don't care about the money spent to get those things, because it's not a lot. But for the sake of all that is holy, our house is basically full. Before you bring in anything else, can we please throw some E36 M3 out?

If you went something done, do it yourself. I just filled der Scheißwagen with crap and took it to the dumpster.

Finally got it to throw a code, cylinder 4 misfire. Apparently one of my fancy Bosch Double Iridium plugs failed within 7500miles.
Doesn't look terrible either so I'm not sure what's up but a swap to some E3s and it runs smooth

My wife has some... issues. I take things to the dump every chance I get, but she has a "method" of going through things to make sure nothing important gets thrown out. I will just throw out something we obviously don't need, or donate it if we've not used it in a while. I see *no reason* to keep kids toy's from 11 years ago, even if they are in the attic. The donation centers don't want them, and we're never going to use them again, and I don't want to keep them until we have grand children (which is apparently her plan).

My mom saved and had my dad take it into the big unfinished basement he had.
He also had a second basement entrance on the back of the house so he'd recruit me to help carry crap around to the garbage can.
Like down on staircase and out the other.

I don't know why, can't think of any personal experience anyway, but I have this thing in my head that tells me to keep spark plugs OE wherever possible. The exception is NGK, which go anywhere except Fords. I don't know where that line of thinking came from, but it's there.

It's not a bad thing at all, but somehow Iridium plugs are considered OEM for this car. Sounds ridiculous.
But E3s have served me well before so I did that. I usually just like copper plugs and replace them sooner though
In reply to barefootcyborg5000 :
Older Honda motorcycles (think points and condensers) get downright violent if you don't put NGKs in them. Dunno why, but anything else makes em pissy.

Just wait until there's a chance to inherit furniture, paintings, etc.
Sometimes I think my wife would keep an old douchbag if she thought it had belonged to her Granny.
Oh how I envy those who can sleep all night and those who can function on a minimal amount of sleep. I am neither.

Same.
Call and order a dumpster and explain there will be no adult happy fun time until it's full. If that doesn't work just start filling it with whatever is nearby. Start dating your stuff when it goes into storage, I like a 1-3 year limit. Bigger stuff gets less time because it takes up more space.
What's frightening is that I do this every couple years and have zero issues filling a 10 yard dumpster every time. It used to be a fight, but it will eventually become something everyone looks forward to.

If I couldn't function on 3-4 hours of sleep I'd never get anything done.

I have some old furniture I inherited, including a 6-foot baby grand piano.
None of it is our style and I would give it for free to whoever will make it go away. But that's never going to be allowed to happen.

I had two elderly Aunts who lived together and never got married - decades of stuff when we had to clean out their house. People like - oooooh lots of old antiques probably.
Yeah, 5 full coffee cans of bingo chips, 90 bouquets of gaudy plastic flowers, 10 new boxes of tin foil and 5 sets of used front parlor curtains in the attic.......amazing what crap they had. Filled the alley for the garbage man.

Some of these things are genuine antiques and were nice furniture a hundred years ago. But not nice enough to be worth much now.
Just being old doesn't mean it's guaranteed to be valuable. I have a hard time convincing DW of that.

26" is impossible for a running engine, and I am pretty sure that Zetecs don't have MAP sensors so this is an inferred value.
What are your fuel trims? I bet they are 20%+ and you have a dirty MAF sensor or a hefty false air leak somewhere. If you don't have the factory airbox/air hose, put it back on. It has resonance chambers that smooth out the MAF reading and a smooth bore inlet duct actually will give you a pretty bad torque hole in the middle of the range.

I just went through this cleaning out my Mom's place. How many woodworking clamps does one man need? I did get about 40lbs of new solder, though

My dad refinished old furniture for a hobby. He did an old table that my son has but he used different chairs. I have the chairs - all need to be busted apart, reglue with new screws and some dowels. Some of the caning in the seats needs to be redone. Lots of sentimental in this but it needs to go.
Nobody wants them - down to $100/set on ad sites - going to Goodwill next. Cool chairs but too wobbly to use.
