Related, I got my flu shot and the new booster this morning. Last time I tested positive right before I was going to get the booster (literally was walking out the door). Hopefully I can avoid it. I have the sniffles now, but 2 negative tests have me hoping it's just a cold.

My other coworker has been hacking and sniffling in the office. I have directly called him on it - twice - but he swears it's not COVID. The boss at least has had the decency to stay absent.
Rant unrelated:
I realize we're an all-volunteer club. I appreciate your help, I really do. But if you're not going to do the whole job you volunteered to do, at least have the decency to resign from your board position so I can find someone who will.

Just discovered that a city council member has been voting to send city money to their spouse's community group for a few years now. No recusal during the council votes, no disclosure of the personal connection to the group.

OK world, that's enough. It's only Tuesday. How about some good news for the rest of the week.
The hits just keep coming.
Today I have one field employee who made it to work. 3 of them have tested positive for COVID, the rest are out dealing with family issues. The guy that made it in is primarily a helper, not a tech. He will get a crash course in learning how to tech today. I am throwing him to the wolves. Of the 15 stops that were planned for today, we will be lucky to get 5 done. We won't be making payroll.
I get to spend the morning contacting customers and explaining why we are so far behind schedule and falling farther behind every minute.
It's not going to be a fun day.
I feel your pain and hope got the best for you.
I've had people ask me why I book us at 80 percent of a full schedule, and that is why. I've been in that boat before and do my best to stay out of it, even if it's not always possible.
A condenced email conversation.
Sales person: Quickbooks told us you need us to make you PCI Compliant. Here's a letter to prove it.
Me: No thank you.
Sales: You have to. It's required.
Me: By who?
Sales: Quickbooks.
Me: All of our processing is done through Quickbooks Online. We do not store any card info on-site or on local computers. We do not have a POS system or any card-scanning hardware. We do not have online payments except through Quickbooks. If QB is not secure on their end and I still need your service, let me know and I'll find someone other than Quickbooks to process my payments.

We are in the trees so it's about 93 on the porch.
My rant of the day:
We are buttressing a foundation that was partially replaced and done poorly about 15 years ago. Poorly is probably a bit strong but there was a few things they could have easily done before that they didn't. It's 2 small buttresses in the corners and not much yardage.
The problem is it's so small that it's in the land of hand mixing. And you have to crawl on your knees 100 ft to get to it. It's for a good cause and we are paid for it but still.....my body hurts
I would like to use 1 vendor for maintenance parts. Not 3 vendors. I'm not supporting shipping companies. When will BASIC parts be in?! I get half way through my list and see "out of stock"
Whatever I'm sick with is kicking the absolute E36 M3 out of me. My fever started yesterday morning but keeps coming back. It started at 99.9°F, then climbed to 101.5°F. When I got up earlier today, it was 102.8°F. I just checked it a few minutes ago and it's at 103.8°F. I've been eating 800mg of ibuprofen every 4-6 hours which has done a decent job of knocking it down but it seems to keep coming back.
If the last dose of ibuprofen doesn't knock it down this time, I think it's time to head to the ER
Edit: Oh and I don't think it's covid because I took two at home tests and they were both negative.

Some sort of non-COVID cold ran through our house the other week. High temps, snots, aches. Not the 'Rona, something nasty though.

I am impressed, if I get to 102, I am nowhere near as articulate as you are right now. That's the aching bones and delirium zone for me.

Definitely go if it gets any worse, 3200mg is the max of ibuprofen you can take a day

That's me if I hit over 99 degrees. My normal body temp is a bit over 94 so it's a 5 degree rise although it can be hard to get medical professionals to take it seriously
I'm going to have to go to the ER. I can't get my fever under 101°F. I got up like 5 times last night to check my temp as I could feel the fever coming back. Lots of chills and strong body aches. My temps were around 102°F but some of that could be attributed to being buried under the covers.
Outside of getting COVID the first time in Dec of 2020, I've never been this sick. I've had a pounding headache for 3 days now and a deep, rattling cough. This sucks

$38 to FedEx Ground a 10lb package not much bigger than a shoe box AZ-WA.
Drove out to the middle of nowhere this morning to pick up a couple of C5 wheels cheap. When I checked the address before I left, it pretty much put me in the middle of a cornfield. I messaged an image from google maps to confirm with the seller this is where I was supposed to go, and he said yes. Got out there. Not the right location. Messaged him, and he gave me some more directions, that put me back the way I came from, then south on a road that had the southbound intersection blocked for construction, and the detour took me way down back near where I live, and back out. Still the wrong place. That's when he realized he'd given me the right address number, but the rural road number was off by 1. I needed to get home and make lunch by then. He messaged me knocking $15 off the price for my trouble, so I went back out in the afternoon. Got there this time, loaded them up, and headed home. Cleaned them up at home and realized the back side of the rim on one of them was cracked. I should have checked more thoroughly when I picked them up, but at this point I was frustrated and just wanted to get home, as I was already going to miss out on another errand I was planning on running today. At least they are probably worth as much in scrap as what I paid for them, although I need to dismount the ancient R6s they came with.
Might get lucky and weld the rim, or at least get them to hold air and use them to figure out spacing on the latest project car.
I only need the rotors and calipers. Maybe those strut hats might be better than mine.
Four pieces from Rock Auto is $225 (w/tax/shipping) so I offer $100. Guy gets them from warehouse and someone stored them outside. Now it's not light surface rust....guy offers more parts I don't need. Stock and a performance sway bar......
dang
It's been great working 60 hour work weeks with no lunch break for the past month. Base salary plus commissions berkeleying fun. I'm tired I'm grumpy I'm burned out and I'm sore. It would be nice to actually get a day off that I plan and schedule to have off too but that is definitely asking too much. I understand it's the busy season but berkeley me I need some time
I've been sitting in the ER for 2.5 hours now. The chest X-ray showed pneumonia. They are going to pump me full of IV fluids, IV antibiotics and pain killers as soon as they can get me to a room.

Wow, same thing happened to a coworker's wife. She went to the doc-in-a-box with a fever / cold symptoms. X-ray showed a big old blob of white - fluid in her lungs.
Best of luck and medical science, man. You've had it rough lately.

Thanks. I actually slept through most of the night last night. My fever is gone and the splitting headache finally subsided after 3 days.
I think the antibiotics are working as I'm hacking up lung butter which sucks when you're sound asleep at 2am.
But I'm starting to feel much better.
And today, I'm working on my laptop from home and coughing up my toes.

Someone really needs to drop a jailbreak for my TV or teach me how to block TV app YouTube ads. This election bullE36 M3 is just ridiculous, and TV app YouTube is only place I see ads of any sort.
