I absolutely berkeleyING hate the Ford quick connect fuel connectors. They are not quick, they do not disconnect and it's the worst system ever.
So it looks like the soft line is dead anyway so I'll need to just cut it off a little into the hard line and just flair it and triple hose clamp it? I would think it would hold against 60psi at that point, I've never had to replace hard fuel lines before

My brother is currently dealing with this exact bullE36 M3. I bought a replacement Clip kit off of Amazon for like $13.00. Its already paid for itself by fixing 2 (notso) quick disconnects. His will be the third.

It should be acceptable to trip or clothesline children who are running around like orangutans when their parents are watching but doing nothing.
Incredibly minor rant: The parking sensors in my tundra go absolutely crazy in drive throughs and I have to turn them off until I leave
Another week, another recall notice on my Maverick.
I feel like I'm collecting Infinity Stones at this point lol

Once upon a time, at the beginning of the auto industry, an engineer came home and found his wife in bed with a mechanic.
The engineers have never been able to get over this.

When those Heelies sneakers were popular I was at the point of carrying around a pocket full of jacks to throw under every one of the rambunctious little bastards.

Our 2016 Exploder had issue number two (Frozen rear view camera) and Ford wasn't ever able to fix it.
On rants and Fords, I've noticed that Ford has a new "invention" in some of their recent cars: laggy windows. The windows start moving after you press the switch and stop moving after you release it. This suggests that the windows are being controlled through a computer with a multitasking OS that takes inputs from the switches, rather than direct electrical connections between the switches and the window motors. I've also noticed some of their power seats having the same issue.
The rear view camera display/head unit in my 2019 Ford stutters/restarts/berkeleys up when I first start the car 8/10 times.

Like dogs, not the kids fault. They act how they've been taught. You SHOULD be allowed to powder your hand and pimp slap the parents.

Nothing in any modern car (meaning anything made in the last 20-30 years or so) directly controls with the switches. Direct control makes for irregular haptics, as well as heavier gauge/more complex wiring harnesses. And the switches also are less reliable.
Plus, controlling everything via modules makes it super easy to do things like allowing you to move the windows after you shut the car off but before you open the door. Or having the car automatically close the windows and sunroof when the windshield's rain sensor detects that it is raining.

Honesty, the head unit in my Maverick is probably the worst I've ever used. Ford was so cheap that it's not even a SYNC system. It's laggy, freezes often, forgets the USB input exists frequently and the UI looks like a Brother printer from 2003. The audio control module crashes and then reboots, causing a loud "pop" through the speakers. About every 5 starts, I have to perform a soft reset because it spazzes out and becomes unusable.
Sometimes, the warning chimes play through the little piezo speaker in the dash instead of the speakers. I've had the instrument cluster go completely blank after starting the truck. I've got warning messages a few times that I need to push the clutch in to start. I've had the shifter not want to shift out of park.
A restart usually fixes any weirdness but it doesn't exactly fill me with confidence.

Agreed.
I've been at a restaurant with the wife unit and said to her: "What would have happened to you if you behaved like that?"
Her response was "I'd have been dragged out of here long before that"
Spotted this calendar on a display rack yesterday.
I hate the future.
But your family will get it for you saying Datsun240ZGuy likes old cars, right?
Three days in a row of loud noises, crowds, and driving downtown. I need a break.
Y'all should recall my thoughts on Ford. I am not a fan- which is a shame, because for a long time I liked some of their products. Now it's very unlikely that I will ever own another.
My rant: After removing the engine in the Newbaru, and spending a lot of that time bent over reoving connectors and bolts, my back feels way worse than I think it should. I guess I need to get back to dead lifts.

On Friday I drove down to Bowling Green via the very scenic route. I was going to stop in at Buffalo Trace, but it was an Eagle Rare day so not really worth it. I'm back in BGKY right now getting ready to drive home. But it's another Eagle Rare day today. I was really hoping for EH Taylor.....

which is it Amazon, Wednesday or Friday? Kind of important.
Adding ads to paid video service, ever changing and random delivery dates, and yet still the audacity to raise annual prices as well as all prices throughout the store.

That Studerotiacoln was a real sharp car back in the day.
On all the rear view camera issues, my Mazda3 had a recall for that; after I got the first notice in the mail (which was, of course, "we recognize there is a problem but we don't have parts to fix it yet") I went online, did some research, and found that the issue was related to loose connectors, corrosion, and a floppy wiring harness. The fix to be eventually implemented included applying dielectric grease to the connector and an adhesive to the wiring harness to keep it from flopping around. As I had been having periodic rear camera static, I decided to DIY the repair. I disconnected the rear camera, cleaned the connector pack, and applied dielectric grease before reconnecting it. I used some duct tape to hold the wire in place against the inside of the rear hatch, and put the trim cover back in place.
That was around 2 years ago. I haven't had a glitch with the rear camera since. About a month ago Mazda sent me a notice that they'd released a service pack to the dealers to remedy the situation. ;-P
