Volkswagen,
It's business day numbering 20.
berkeleying unacceptable.
Dear co-worker,
If you don’t want the safety guy to remind you of the company tobacco-use policy, don’t have a cigarette in your mouth while walking around the non-smoking shop.

Second is you have an open in a line, third is you have 12 volts coming into the line. Really, the toughest thing is finding good, reliable service information. I berkeleying hate them, but its becoming a critical part of life. I once had a charging problem in a Volvo causes by a wee bit of corrosion in the connector into the drivers door, and a security no-start by a green connector on the diff module on a XC70...
Yeah, the 'critical part of life' is why I'm trying to learn about it. A scope would certainly be good to have, but here's the thing - the shop is union, and I am not. So I'm not supposed to be troubleshooting it at all, but the techs don't know anything about it either, so we're in this fuzzy grey area where they'll let me do it if I don't have to use their equipment. Which means I'm basically limited to a DMM, or verbally telling them what to look for with the scope.
Hopefully I can find some good service info when I have time to look. And wow, I had no idea they were that sensitive to corrosion, though I guess it makes sense since they are very sensitive to bus resistance.

nah, we are all just cheap asses..
BabyRev has an ear infection that turned into a sinus infection over the weekend. I've magically acquired a sinus infection(i blame her). All either of us wants to do is sleep, and neither of us can breathe well enough to do it.
She's a special kind of demon when she's sick it turns out, so with her 18 month checkup tomorrow I'm sure we'll have a blast.

Heat is yous guys freind. Warm pack for mini-Rev, hot as you can stand it for you.

Interesting that I missed some posts- as the band that I love to hear more than any other is hated here with a passion.
One more reason I don't share much with anyone.

MORE RANTING about health insurance shopping. ARGHAPSLKDJFLKJDpoalkhjsdpfrolakihe;rl,anmsdv2408912!!)@#)pllkbajsdfjioj
This is without a doubt one of the most frustrating things I've done this year. And I have a 2 year old at home.
All of the locally available health insurance plans have reworked their networks and partnered up with hospitals and divvied up service providers. I'm not sure there's a single plan available at any price that covers all three of our doctors and they're within blocks of each other and have admitting privileges at the same hospital. Why would the insurance companies do this? Why would the hospitals do this?
It's hard to resist just falling back to the days of self pay but then we're expecting a child so the out of pocket expense would be breathtaking. Ugh. Which is another rant: the insurance company pays pennies for what we would be charge dollars. A recent test was billed at $1200 and the insurance company's negotiated rate was $475. Why not just bill everyone $475? That's ridiculous.

Why does any entity give or get a volume discount on anything? Same reason.

I'm not busy at all and there are not enough hours in the day.

I bought a house, so, no, there are never enough hours in the day.
Well, I suppose I would have gotten another hour of sleep last night if I didn't feel the need to buy a train to go around the tree off of craigslist. But I did. And for that, I am happy.
Most of it was spent constructing a kitchen island I got off of amazon. Holy hell do I hate styrafoam packing.

There is no "volume" to discount when it's all one at a time health care. It's not like the insurance company lines up people for them to MRI all in a row. The insurance companies don't set up the MRI or go around looking for people that need MRIs and signing them up to insurance and then send them to the hospital all at once. The MRI process is the same either way, insured or not, and takes the hospital the same amount of time and costs them the same except billing is easier without insurance in the way. So no, not the same reason at all.
[note that MRI was just used as a generic example of a test that's enormously discounted when billed through insurance vs self-pay.]

I have no interest in logic in my rant!

Still a worthy rant even without the logic.

Pesky, ain't it? I will agree that some of the "discounts" are just plain silly. But at the risk of floundering, that's what happens when you have the worst of corporatism combined with the worst of government participation. I'll leave it at that.
Short staffed again this fall, the weather is miserable cold rain and were busy as hell. Boss keeps claiming shes looking for a part time employee yet this is the second month were im the only guy in a 3 bay shop 2 days a week. I like my job most days but this has me considering a job change.

If it makes you feel better, there isn't a genre of music that I haven't found at least one song I like. That includes opera, acapella, and dubstep.

New car thread = new to your driveway! Congrats.
New car loan = You are the first owner of a car from the manufacturer and bought at a dealer and therefore a sucker.
