Mitsu's 2015 entire car line up is:
(from large to small)
Outlander
Outlander Sport
Lancer (and Evo)
Mirage
i-MIEV
Of that line up, what was still made here? Outlanders?

Not going to hurt McClean county hardly at all. LaSalle, Buruea, Woodford, Peoria, Tazewell, etc., will be hurt by it.
Actually, there was so little production going on there I don't see it hurting too much. Aside from that, I bet that another car maker comes in and buys the plant in the next few years.
It's amazing how long Mitsu auto has been able to circle the drain in the US market without actually going down. Their light/medium duty truck, the Fuso, sells quite well.

Agreed. Rather than having a plant that is rarely open or else employs 1/5 of the people it could, they can now actually have a full time staff that will actually help the economy.
Quote from Mitsubishi in another article.
"there has been no decision made regarding it at this moment."

Sounds like Suzuki motorcycles.....except they're better at it than Mitsu.
The Packard plant has only been waiting 57 years for an automaker to buy it and start making cars. Im sure that plant will sell in no time. Maybe Elio can expand.

Honestly, there's only one new Suzuki bike that I'd buy with my own money, and that's the TU250X.
I wonder how this affects us who are current Mitsubishi owners who may need to take a trip down to the dealer for replacement parts.
In reply to OutOfFocus:
I'd say not really at this point, different story if they keep building E36 M3 nobody wants and shutter all the dealers as well....
They need to get back to their roots...
Really, a very nice looking plane.
If it was a car, what would it be? A lot like a Lotus Elise (with a really big fuel tank).
And the highest mpg (and lowest cost) non hybrid apparently couldnt noticeably help their North American sales?
