I would like to see a new gremlins movie.
I'd prefer less remakes and more sequels/prequels of some of these movies instead of rehashing the exact same or similar plot, but go a new direction with a new plot within the world previously setup by the original movie (or movies).
It seems to work with Bond.

I have to disagree. The camp is what made those films. I dont think they can replicate it.
Honestly, I'm trying to think of a time when a remake improved on the original. It's pretty darn rare.

One of the greatest Westerns of all time, won a pile of Oscars, 95% on RT, in the IMDB Top 250. It's just fine the way it is. Honestly, name me one other actor who could portray William Munny and his inner conflict.
It's a good movie and good acting. Good enough that I bought a copy. I would like to see a different version though. Watching an hour and a quarter of inner conflict got tedious for me.
The Avengers, and not the Marvel one, the BBC one. Use a similar over the top script, but for chrissakes get somebody with a bunch more Patrick Macnee and way, way less Ralph Fiennes. And maybe a good looking woman instead of Uma Thurman... Now that I think about it, Uma would have been ok if she somehow combined The Bride with Mrs. Peel.

The movie was forgettable, and not at all what the books deserve.I'll give THHGTTG a pass because every different medium is a different canon. The movie is different from the game is different from the TV show is different from the books is different from the radio play, but not really in a bad way. Some would say that this is a result of the Guide Mk2's meddling. Others refuse the acknowledge the existence of "Mostly Harmless".
Then there was "And another thing..." The author was a close friend of DA and nailed to style. Fantastic book.
My only issue with the movie was how they handled zaphod's heads. I would love to see interpretations of the sequels made.
Bullitt, but with a decent plot. For the chase scene use a new GT500 and a Hellcat Charger!
Ducking for cover.

The thing that bothered me about "I am legend" is the way they made the main character so much better of a person. In the movie he wakes up and exercises and hangs out with the dog before going to work as a super scientist. In the book he's a drunk and tries to decide if its ok to pork a lady zombie.
Only say because it's on TCM right now.
Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?
Who could replace Burton and Taylor these days?

I cried a little inside when I found out that they were making a Memento remake.
I fully expect it to be some spoonfed crap that requires zero thinking. Movies that have nuance and require insight and examination to understand don't work as well in international markets because things get lost in translation, so the movie houses don't do that anymore.
That's why modern movies, generally, are crapfests where the most you can do is turn your brain off (for protection) and watch the flashing colors and people saying words and stuff.

And the only point of it was that the class was chosen that year to be punished, and the only way to not die would be to be the last one alive.
I only ever saw the movie, but I thought it was being televised. I remember a subplot where a group of geeks/computer jocks tried to hijack the TV station.

I can think of one.

My problems were numerous, but to start, where did he get seed corn in Manhattan? Why is he hunting deer in a Mustang when he's got a plot of growing corn and crops fer crissakes?

The Thomas Crowne Affair is a possibility.

Agreed on the remake with a better plot, maybe not so much on the cars, and lets not get the same cars getting past in the chase scene multiple times.
And as other have said elsewhere lets leave the CGI for sci fi and film real cars, real driving....
Dawn of the Dead remake was better than the original.
The Thing (Carpenter/Russell version) is a pretty huge improvement over the original.
I'm going to nominate Striptease for a remake. The novel that's the source material is incredibly funny and well written, but of course they turned it into a movie about Demi Moore's boobs and forgot all the other stuff.
Also, Bonfire of the Vanities. Great book, awful film.

How in flaming perdition do you remake a movie that's only what, 15 years old? Sheesh.

Not to mention it's already has 92% Fresh tomato rating plus I would imagine Christopher Nolan stopping it. Heck, it's format is kinda on TV called Blindspot on NBC. I highly doubt a remake would even come close to the original.
The Explorers - with a final 3rd that doesn't blow, and lives up to the promise of the first 2/3 of the movie.

Awwww yisssss. I loved that movie as a kid. There were rumors of it getting remade earlier this year but I think there's some sort of dispute about who owns the rights to it.
I, Robot could use a remake too. Just to add to the list of Will Smith movies that we've nominated already.
