[gasp] 2:22!!!!!!!
God help you if you hold on to the ball in a ruck. I was a scrum half for four years. My god the toll that has taken on my liver. I mean shoulders.

The University of Hawaii football team does the Haka, and it's very well received. My college rugby team just formed a circle and chanted "Kill, Kill, Kill...." for a minute before the game. Only got crap for it from one ref.
Sorry, my reply wasn't as elegantly worded as I remembered- point is, a league that won't force a team to stop using a racist name (I'm looking at you, Washington), likely wouldn't force a team to not do a haka. In fact, with all the dancing robot crap, I'd expect them to endorse it (as long as there was a well financed study that demonstrated a positive ROI). My point with UH was that the NCAA is at least as scared of offending the public as the NFL. I'm equating them, because I dislike them equally. Rugby taught me to dislike football, and its "bro" culture. That's for another discussion over a beer though.

Hey, I meant no disrespect. Cheerleaders can be tough too.

Exactly.... If NFL guys started this it would be a bunch of classless idiots making up stuff... Probably sexually explicit and more akin to the WWF...
Instantly a race would start to see who could come up with the most idiotic TREND... There would be no authentic connection to heritage... and certainly nothing which would last a century.
These guys aren't smart enough to have a play ready on a short clock.. Instead waddling up... spiking the ball to ask some guy on the sidelines what should happen next....
You can't fix that kind of stupid.
In reply to Mazdax605: find some games in your town. in florida they are very casual with retired players drinking beer and walking the sidelines. just go ask questions and you'll have a great day
Yeah, what I especially liked about the rugby was the social experience following the game. What a fantastic group of like-minded people. Just wish I had shoulders left to continue to compete. Don't think I could take another high hit without crumpling and weeping. That said, my 10 yr old son wants to play next year....

I see what you did there.
I was a back. I played at 14 a bit, but mostly got stuck at 15 because I could kick from hand fairly well.
After game was always good. You spent the match being complete bastards to each other, then got together for drinks afterwards, often times wearing each other's blood.
Good times, good times.
Murph: That was posted in response to my obligatory "SATURDAY'S A RUGBY DAY" FB post this morning, nice.
Then we lost a close match and the other side pussed out on a third half.
Booooo.
I know what I should have done Friday.
I do appreciate the insanity that I was sad not to wake up sore everywhere this morning.
It's OK, I was sidelined last season after trying to 'walk off' a ruptured spleen, so I have to reestablish myself as a starter, I'll get played soon enough.
My standard solution
