How do you determine slow. I used to own a 370 and slow it wasn't. Not as fast a new Z06, but faster than most cars in its price range, easily.

A 370z is only about a half second quicker in the quarter than a V6 RAV4. Thats pretty slow for something that looks sporty.

An interesting comparison. Like a V6 Accord against an older 4.6 Mustang. On paper I think there was a 10hp difference but damn if the Accord felt faster.

I daily drive a '97 SE and used to D'D my '96 SE-R. I am the obnoxiously car car guy. I wrassled and cussed at the exhaust system last month until it mysteriously stopped fighting me and went together. Today between shifts I went down to the car garage and waterless car-washed the windows and used Invisible Car Wipes to clean the inside glass. Every car query gets run by me. I meet people where they are. I think the people have changed. These are just cars after all. Freaking buy the late model and be happy. I wish on a star that I could afford a brand new Sentra and also have a massive Steel Building with mains water and sewer to turn my '90s Nissans into macadam monsters. In the interim I'll be that guy driving E36 M3ty old Nissans that he loves and be the obnoxiously car car guy.

This every spring/summer/autumn/winter stream of consciousness anti-Nissan rant thread is kind of like saying that the Sherman tank was E36 M3 when y'all forgot that it simply got the job done. OOOOOhhhhhhh the F-fandangle with the Porker turret rear back-up camera was voiced over by someone that hasn't been funny since the eighties out sells it by a trillion mega units and as such you should treat their products as some kind of penile shortening device that will turn you into some kind of low-income sub-prime patio dwelling Nissan defender.

Specifically Altimas. I see an Altima in traffic and I automatically give it a couple of extra lengths buffer. Of course, I usually don't see them very long, because they are almost always going 20 mph faster than traffic, tailgating and weaving in and out without signals while the driver texts, often with 3 or 4 20-something passengers jammed in along for the ride.

I was visiting a friend once, and I inadvertently blurred out,

She dissolved into genuine tears of laughter for a good 2-3 minutes while her roommate left the room. Apparently the roommate had just got a new Sentra, and all of my reasons applied. Whoops. I can be a jerk sometimes.
I would probably buy a 350z if the price was right, but as they get older and more beat up that lessens.
I have a friend with a newer Pathfinder. It has tons of mechanical problems, but I'm not sure of the specifics.
Around here Altimas are the generic "I got a car" car. There are tons of them.
I miss the X-Terra. I like ours and it's surprisingly capable. I just wanted was a more fuel efficient version of it, since it gets 18ish mpg, which means I'm basically down to having to LS swap one.
That bloated mess which is rumored to replace it, the overseas markets can keep it.

I took both of these from the same source and used 2011 for each model. I didn't use top speed as that would have been a big difference and not fair really. Also, a V6 Rav4 is far from your average small CUV. From road tests in Motor Trend:
370Z - 0-60: 4.9 sec. Quarter Mile: 13.4 at 105.2 mph Braking: 60-0 102 FT
Rav4 V6 0-60: 6.3 sec Quarter Mile: 14.9 at 92.9 mph Braking: 60-0 122 FT
I should also add we own a Rav4 and there is absolutely zero comparison here in terms of speed or driving dynamics.
Saying 14.9 is almost as fast as 13.4 is rediculous. Saying my grandma can build a house because she can lift a hammer is, too.

Also, a delta of 4.9 to 6.3 in 0-60 times is 1.4 seconds, and the 1/4 mile difference is 1.5 seconds, not 'about half a second'.

There's a very general rule in drag racing that 0.1 seconds is about a car length. So 1.5 seconds would put the RAV4 about 14 or 15 car lengths behind @ 1320ft. A real barn burner if you ask me!
That's why I was calling BS on those claims. As a former owner I knew they were untrue. For the money that used 370s are bringing these days, heck even the new ones, it's difficult to find a faster car. They are on par with a C5 Corvette performance wise, except the Z06.
Guess all the guys running low 14s in the RAV4s must have falsified the videos.
The best is the claim that a 370Z is close to a C5 in performance - thats even sillier than claiming a RAV4 is close to a 370Z!
2002 C5 - quarter mile in 12.5 or less at 109 or so.
Most of the C5 times I see are around 13 seconds at 110 stock. By the way, all my numbers are on street tires from actual road tests, not some random guy posting videos with who knows what tires or mods.

This article is somehow from the future. I think that's a lot more important to talk about than Nissan's sales for a month which actually hasn't happened yet.
Nissan is actually up 3.3% year over year. FCA is taking a E36 M3 pounding, however.
