You're allowed to panic in situations like that.
I'm also taking notes of what floated and what didn't. Could be useful in the future.
As someone living in a subduction zone, this is relevant to my interests, despite my sincere wish it weren't! Makes me kinda happy to live 650' up on a nice big hill, it does. I tell you what if I'm out drivin' and I see cars start to rock on their springs, buildings moving about merrily and pedestrians bracing themselves to keep from getting knocked down, my incar vid will show me making for high ground with all possible haste...

it does end pretty scarily.. but honestly, once you get into that position... do you stay in the car and afloat and mostly dry and warm.. or do you brave the cold water with all the crap floating in it that can crush you and pull you under?
interesting how some areas had fast flowing current whiles others didn't. Just the way the buildings directed the water I guess. I knew the water came up fast but holy E36M3! Not much time to bail out and run if needed. New in car safety feature...scuba gear.
