I'm already annoyed with the people of the Chicago area. They act like the world is coming to an end in the next two days.
Howabout instead of worrying yourselves to no end, just prepare yourself for the 2 feet of snow and 50 mph wind.
My wife is all freaked out too, facebook isn't helping her case, and shes counted the toilet paper 3 times.
We have two 4x4s and friends with snowmobiles, I'm not worried about getting trapped in my house.

I'm pissed. I was gonna go out and get stuff to make French Onion Soup, but I'm afraid of the crowds. So I'm not going.
On the other hand, I've managed to convince myself that there will be a snow day, so I'm not going to study for my exam tomorrow. This can only end well.
and i get to drive and throw pizzas at people the next two days....sigh.....i guess the subby is going to try earing its keep for sure.....

I wish good tips upon you, sir! Who/where do you deliver for?
Yeah, from the latest forecast it sounds like my wife & I will each make it to work tomorrow(I commute 50-mi each way & she does 25-mi), but I doubt either of us will make it home.
She works at a hospital, and is required to be there, even if they close the roads, because she's considered "essential personell" - she's the secretary for the head nurse.
Me, I'm just crazy.

I remember hearing that mess when we got hammered back in december. The only thing I was worried about was if I had enough soda and videogames. I got bored and dug my Taurus out to see where I could get to in my 100$ beater with bald tires. I made it... out of the parking lot.
I see extortion in your future, corner the market!
meh, I can walk to anything I want from my place. Dunkin Donuts is at the end of the alley, we have a corner grocery store at the corner. My "job" is 2 miles away I have new front tires on the van and the rear tires are darn near new. At work I have the altimas inside waiting to be worked on. I have remote start on the aforementioned van. Already turned the defrost up full blast. Gas station is around the corner from work.
I've lived in chicago my whole life, this snowfall doesn't worry me. sorry news broadcast person.
The only thing I am worried about is my 30 mile commute Wed morning. I can manage my Savannah through the snow with no problem, but I don't want to deal with the rest of the idiots on the road.
I see at least one flipped over SUV every winter, so I am expecting to see it then.
I'm dealing with the same drama here in West Michigan. Come on people. It's Michigan. It's snows 1/3 of the year. nothing new.
Now shut up, get up earlier and drive a little slower. You'll make it to work easy enough.
and no. I don't own an AWD/4wd snow eating monster. Just an Oldsmobile.
But, I'm the shiny happy person who honks and waves at the 4x4's down in the ditches as I cruise by.
It's one thing to have 4WD, it's another to know how to USE it. Just because you have it, doesn't mean you can drive fast, you still have to stop.
I've had to put my Cherokee in the ditch a couple times to get out of sticky situations, but the thing is, I didn't stop. I'd steer into the ditch and if I was clear of utility poles, guard rails, and trees, I'd stay on the gas and end up in a corn field or someones front yard. Now, my Jeep would look like I drove through a wall of snow, but that's better than rear ending someone in a whiteout.
It's Feb in northern illinois. Winter happens.
Hey it is going to be 56 here in Huntsville tomorrow.
Egads, a snownami is going to kill us all!
I drive 140 miles per day... I expect all hell to have broken loose wednesday.
Over an inch of ice here today.
so i start school.... and 3/4 of my 75 mile travel days during the first 3 weeks are in huge berkeleying snowstorms!??! ugh.
It's in the 30's now, over 70 tomorrow and back to the 40's Thursday. Welcome to Tidewater Virginia.
Put car in gear. Put foot to floor. Just like any other day.
Yeah!
They closed school. After I got here and took a grueling quiz. Thanks for nothing school board berkleys!
Four wheel drive just lets you get stuck in more interesting places.

Yeah I may be forced to spend a few extra days in Florida before I drive home to Ohio, dammit.
