No different than Michael Waltrip. Dude's face is on so much during a NASCAR race you'd think he was the best driver on the circut. Then his brother in the box talking about how great he is because he won at Daytona once.
It happens. Michael is a big personality so he commands attention. Danica is a pretty girl in a sport where that's uncommon so she commands attention. It's not like they hide the fact that racing is driven by marketing. There's a bunch of people who tune in every week to see what the Michael Waltrips and Danica Patricks of the world are up to. If it keeps the races on, who cares?
[NASCAR fan] Mikey's won the Daytona 500 2 twice. and i think 2 other races. in almost 25 years. he is awesome.[/NASCAR fan ]

Mikey, vs. Kyle Petty in a battle of the NASCAR greats!
Er, uh, people related to NASCAR greats.
Didn't someone post a modified Indycar logo with Will Power on it instead giving the birds? I can't find it. Thought it was TJ.

I definitely wouldn't say Kyle Petty is or ever was great. He definitely stuck around long after his prime, and that made him look bad. But the guy won 8 races at the top level of his sport, and I have to say that deserves a degree of respect.
So, a serious question: how many races do you have to win before you're not a punchline anymore?
Kyle became a punchline more because of who his father is. He, Mikey, and perhaps the biggest offender, Junior (please don't burn my house down) were able to skip over the work you way up the ladder part of racing because of their name. Hate Danica all you want but one thing she did was get there on her own. Kyle did a have a good stretch, but it took Dale Earnhardt commiting suicide for Mikey to get his first win and if Junior was the only car in a race there's a chance "bad luck" would steal the win from him. Of course my no talent ass sits watching them go farther then I ever could so who am I to judge
that is just the business!
pretty much sums up IRL nowadays
maybe instead of Will there you can put a figure of Danica in the logo too

With creative photoshopping, that could be...
So I see Indycar has gone the way of NASCAR. Fine, I don't watch Soap Operas anyway.

The NASCAR guys are advertising robots that are told what to say, what to drink, how to stand, etc.
The Indy drivers...well.. they have some sort of a personality left.
