If it was in gear or something like that, it might be able to force something. More than likely, though, the tires would slide before gears would shear.

If the car was hit hard enough to tweak the frame it could crack the transmission case:

If it was merely struck by the oddity of your questions, then I don't suppose the impact would be severe enough to cause damage to the transmission.

Manual- probably not. Automatic- could damage the park pawl.
