I cannot explain this car. I bought it 3.5 years ago for $500. I have put $0 into it. I fully expected A- to hate it and B- it to be gone in 6 months, or less.
This stupid thing has been a cockroach of unbelievable proportion. It never fails to start. It's got decent power, the ac works, (I think the heat works but it's Florida so ???). It sat for a YEAR recently, I threw a new battery in it, and it cranked over and ran on the first try. I just don't get it. I have some sort of rain man E36 M3 when it comes to buying bad cars and just having them work. maybe I need to try Italian.
busy day
edit: first one was a few weeks ago, the other two were today. Three truckloads of parts as well....
Project Trucks OVER trailers??
The '53 F250 we hauled back from Silas at Adventures Made From Scratch
He is really good with that loader...
Took the '85 to a friend's shop yesterday and did an oil change, brake master, and new wheels and tires.
Well it's been an eventful week so far. I bought a 1940 La Salle, commissioned a transport company to move it, and also sold the Saab. The transport company called Monday saying the car will be picked up today in North Carolina so I had to scramble to ensure someone was there. Done! Another call, "Hey, I got an enclosed trailer for you, just gonna charge you the open trailer price". Thank you. The car should be there in three days. Yesterday afternoon: Ring Ring. Hello. "Hi, I'm with the transport company and I will be delivering your car between 6 & 8:00 tonight".
More scrambling! Called a neighbor and watched the weather, it hasn't rained all day but things were getting over developed and there was distant thunder. Just as the 40ft. trailer turned down my street the sky opened up! The car doesn't run. I looped some 3/4" around the frame rails and slowly backed it out of the trailer, it was uphill pushing it. Once out, I paid the driver, tipped him and flipped the truck around for the 300ft. pull up the driveway. I made the garage with two doors out front and one in the back so I just drove the truck out the back until the LaSalle had all 4 on smooth concrete.
Then it stopped raining .......
Due to the above no one got pictures.
You can see the fat drops just starting. =~ (

Capstan, a winch won't hold all that line. Thought about a capstan bolted to a 2 X 12, lay across the door frame to use as necessary.
Towed home a barnacle encrusted XR4Ti shell to donate some sheet metal to the racecar, which ended the last race on it's roof.
