I was never really hurt but I did break a guy's tibia. Pretty horrific sound.
I managed to get through a season without any major injuries. Decided it was not for me after that and went back to rowing
4 Years for me and only a concussion to show from it. Of course I don't injure too easy. Went through 14 years of wrestling and 9 years of football with nothing major for injuries either.
Worse injury I saw on the pitch was a badly broken bone that broke through the skin.
I've got a friend that spent the last four years in Scotland with his wife while she was in school over there. He played rugby for two, ended up in the hospital with a nasty concussion. Came home and hooked up with a local team here in gainesville, the first night of the challenge I was supposed to go watch him play, but got asked to work. Dude got his head split wide open during the last minute of the game.
Told him he should have been at the hotel hanging out and talking cars.
Crushed my nose (the bone above the cartilage) to the point of needing a nose job to be able to breathe properly, and crushed a finger joint, so it's now larger than it's pair on the other hand, but that was the worst that I had. Saw a fellow tight head prop lose an ear, he had refused to have his ears taped. The school system went to mandatory taping after that.
