I will be moving to Texas at the end of the month from Tennessee and have to figure out how I'm getting there. I have the opportunity to throw the bike on a trailer headed that way this weekend but then I have no way to get there and the smallest uhaul is going to be over $700. Or I can throw my clothes and a few odds and ends on the trailer and ride the bike down at the end of the month. It's a 15hr drive but I figure I can take two full days to get there. I think it would be awesome to ride the bike out but I've never been on that big of a ride. What would you do?
Get an Airhawk seat cushion and ride.

Ride but can you take a few more days? Take a week and just ride all over the place on your "way" to texas.

Yeah, if you have stock seating I would probably want to make it non-stock, and then get a copy of H-D's road atlas so you have a paper copy with a map of every H-D dealership along the way.
I do have the road atlas, not much I can do about the seat between now and then. I've never had a problem with it but I've never been on it for more than 6 or so hours either. I will be throwing a set of highway pegs on it just to have the ability to put my legs in a different position. I have an active H.O.G. membership so any trouble should be able to be taken care of without much hassle.
Don't think I can take a week but should be pretty flexible in the case of any unexpected delays. I certainly like the idea of staying off the interstate as much as possible.
15 hours isn't that long. I've done that over two days on a bicycle. You can do it on a motorcycle. It'll be fun. You already know that.

The big unknown at this time is the weather, and I have to make a decision this weekend...
Get a rain suit. It will help block wind, if it gets colder than you anticipate, without taking up a lot of precious, limited carrying capacity.
Look for a sheepskin seat pad. It will help ward off monkey butt.
Have fun.
I'd seriously think about taking several days to do it and enjoying the countryside on the way.
Ride.
Oh, and as my Physics teacher (from TN) said: All the best Texans were from Tennessee. (Look it up.)
Ride. Definitely ride. Avoid Freeways/Highways at all costs.
Rediscover small town America. Eat at Mom and pop restaurants, fill up at small independent gas stations, see what time has forgotten with the birth of superslab.
The boss has decided to fly me out. Bike is going on a trailer tomorrow.
Probably not the end of the world. Tennessee is pretty far south, but it's still been bloody cold the last few weeks across alot of the area you'd be riding.
Ride it home to visit the family in the spring and make some memories then

Ride. I did a fly in ride home when I bought my k1200s. The stock seat sucks but other than that I did Dallas to nashville straight though with no issues. I hopped the plane with my leather jacket and helmet and that's it. Ran I to some rain but nothing major. I would have liked to take more time and spread the trip out over two or three days, but I had to get back to work the following day so it was a pretty brutal trip. Left for the airport at around 5am that morning and got home around 11pm that night.... Man was I sore though.
How was this even a question?
Was the decision taken out of your hands, or did reason catch up to you?
Sounds like it would have been an epic trip. But there will always be other opportunities.

Never having been on a big trip on a very uncomfortable bike and weather were the biggest issues. Lots of last minute details and loose ends that need tied up. Originally I was supposed to leave with the truck on Monday, now I have to wait for a couple more weeks. This was kind of a last minute deal that got thrown together.
